Re: cover art
It could be good without the "evil" hands... Just the book with maybe some texts from previous files or even in game files...

Oh man, why'd you have to remind me?DarkLord wrote:Hey, i take that american thing offensive, we had clive barker after all
It wasn't a slight against America, just that, traditionally, the American boxarts for SH games are considered inferior to the European and Japanese covers.

To me, it isn't anything special. I don't loathe it, but I don't find it particularly eyecatching, either.

I don't know, I've got to hand it to Konami. The first time I saw this, it really reached out and grabbed my attention.Enika wrote:To me, it isn't anything special. I don't loathe it, but I don't find it particularly eyecatching, either.

I may have missed something but isn't Clive Barker English?DarkLord wrote:Hey, i take that american thing offensive, we had clive barker after all
Too cold to start a fire
I'm burning diesel, burning dinosaur bones
I'll take the river down to still water
And ride a pack of dogs

Yes. Clive is English, not American...stopped_clock wrote:I may have missed something but isn't Clive Barker English?DarkLord wrote:Hey, i take that american thing offensive, we had clive barker after all

America still has Stephen King, HP Lovecraft, Edgar Allan Poe, and whole slew of other good horror writers.

^Hey, hey, don't typecast EAPoe's stuff! He was also considered to be at the forefront of both the detective and sci-fi genres, in addition to horror. But don't worry, I shall learn you, young padowan.
Uhh... the cover is... okay, I guess. The hands are effective, sure, but they're kinda more silly than scary. They definitely don't make me want to pay an arm and a leg for it, that's for sure.
But seriously, though, the black ooze seeping from where the hands are escaping from the book kinda reminds me of SH4. Y'know, that weird ooze that formed whenever the Victims passed through physical objects?

The idea isn't awful, but it would be a lot nicer if the hands didn't look like they came from a cheap halloween costume kit.

My thoughts exactly.stitchedlamb wrote:The idea isn't awful, but it would be a lot nicer if the hands didn't look like they came from a cheap halloween costume kit.
I like everything else about it but the hands look too plastic, so not scary.
I wish they were something like normal hands with stitches or maybe eyes instead of hands ... or just a book, an eerie book with eerie surroundings.
No no no no no! please don't!Typographenia wrote:Hey guys. I think that book is full of not good stuff. See, it has "DEATH" and "EVIL" on it and everything.
And the ugly hand things too, but yeah. I think that book isn't going to be a nice book to read.
PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER_SHOW PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER:Pretty awful cover, but whatever. We haven't had a good boxart since 3. : \
Silent Hill: Homecoming (US Boxart) is the most perfect game artwork ever! then followed by the European artwork of Silent Hill 4: The Room.

Re: cover art
It's better than the last one. Seriously.
Re: cover art
In the EU we always seem to get the better boxart lol
Re: cover art
I really really dig it.
