P.T. - German version issue

Post by jdnation »

Thought I'd bring this to everyone's notice in case this affects you.

In Germany, due to German law about gaming content, only adults could download P.T. and the way to verify this was tied to a PS+ account, so only PS+ subscribers in Germany could download P.T.

However, if your German PS+ account expires, the P.T. becomes locked and unplayable.

Renewing your license doesn't help because the way PS+ works is that if you do unsubscribe, all free PS+ games cease to work and the licenses disappear from your system. Resubscribing usually renews them again by downloading the license over again. But because P.T. is delisted from PSN you can't get the license back.

Since P.T. wasn't tied to account systems in other countries this is a problem that uniquely affects German accounts and users.

I heard about this too. Is it the same expiration date for every German account? I wonder.

It's only if you let your account lapse, I believe. But so long as you remain subscribed, then there's not problem.
