How do you shut that buzz noise in PS3's SH1?

Post by RiceDaddy7 »

As you're all probably familiar with hearing this problem:

I'm playing SH1 on my PS3 and I just fired my handgun. The buzzing sound happens. I tried unequipping and requipping, I tried fooling around with the options; no dice. It's still there.

I read a rumor that there's an object in the game causing that sound and I need to shoot it. Is this true, and if so, what is this object, where is it, and how do I destroy it?

Semi-related note: Silent Hill is un-scary with the mute button on.

I think all of us PS3 owners want to know how to fix that glitch. I want to play SH1, but I'm too lazy to plug in my PS2.

I don't think anyone has a solution quite yet, unfortunately.

Yeah, I read that thread and nothing dealt with a solution for it, so that's why I asked in a new thread.

Turn off your PS3 and play the disc in your PC, PS2 ofr PSX if you have any... The PC option is the easier, my first Silent Hill 1 play was in my PC cause I hadn't money for consoles in that time...

I did notice, however, that the ringing stops if you exit a building.

Oh, I hate that freaking noise! It made me take a month break from my SH1 play through. The best way I found was to either reshoot the handgun until it goes away, kill something with the handgun, or just dont use it. I find the latter to be best, I mean, you dont really need it, anyways.

One thing that I can suggest that might help with this problem. Currently I'm playing SH1 on my PS3 and I noticed that I get the buzzing noise whenever I'm outdoors if I use the pistol. If you use a melee, shotgun or rifle outdoors, I dont get the loud buzzing noise.

I know that this thread topic was created back in Dec but this little tip may help people with PS3 not to get that buzzing noise.

Actually, I'm glad you posted that because I've been thinking about playing sh1 in my ps3 for a few weeks now, I've just never gotten around to it. You've solved a potential problem for me before I even HAD the problem :D
