Some assistance needed...Saving glitch in PS3 SHH?

I've just beaten the last boss and finished the game on PS3 platform. Cue the good ending scenes. Then I'm told I've unlocked Alex's Big Rig costume. Then.......credits roll. After the credits, I'm brought back to the main menu.

My question is...where is the option to save the game after beating it?! I know Xbox360 has the option to save so that one can play a new game with special items but doesn't PS3 have the same option too?

You don't save after the credits on the PS3 version, but your costumes will still remain available and so is the laser pistol if you unlocked it by getting the UFO ending.

Oh, that's why Cause all the previous SH games I'v played on PS2 allowed me to save after beating the final boss and ending so I assume SHH on PS3 would be the same too. Thanks for the info~
