Boat glich on ps2 PAL version of silent hill 2

Post by cedar grove »

I was expecting to cross toluca lake like normal(you have to row across it after killing eddie),
but when ever i try to move forwards toward the lighthouse i cant move forwards even if i push all the buttons ect.
I have looked online for a fix but there is none, and it cant be my controller its a new Sony controller.
I can get the boat to zig-zag if i spin the analogue sticks but it takes forever to get there, i tried doing this for an hour and nothing happened.
Hopefully someone knows the answer.

Has this happened before? Is this your first playthrough? If so, then it is probably a glitch and I suggest just starting a new game and if it happens again, take it back and get a new copy.

What difficulty are you playing on? I remember the same thing happening when I played on Hard difficulty since it's as if the sticks both control an oar, so you have to use both the left and right analog sticks. If I remember right, you have to push both sticks forward, then roll them around in a semicircle before pushing them up again. Try that and see if it works.

Thanks guys , i did not know this was part of the game design.
I did the dual analogue technique and it worked (at lakeview hotel now).
So you can delete this thread if you want.
Sorry for any wasted time.
