Silent Hill Homecoming, glitch or...? (PS3)

*Potential spoilers ahead*
I'm currently stuck at the Grand Hotel, having jumped down a hole in the floor to collect the third and final memento for the mysterious woman behind the door. As is the way in gaming, I promptly got jumped by about three enemies and died before i could complete the 'mission'.
I retraced my steps but now for some reason cannot jump down that same hole to collect the last memento I.e there is no longer any prompt to allow me to jump down.
The third memento is definitely not in my inventory.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Not sure what to do..?
