Hi guys, I didn't see a thread with this question so here goes... When I hit "View unread posts" to see what has been posted while I was gone I don't have a "mark all as read" option, right? The only way I can make the threads disappear from the list is by opening them all or going section by section and mark all sections as read. Is this correct or is there another way to do this? It would be nice to have the option to mark all unread posts as read. Not sure if this has to do with the software. Thank you! Scarlet |

Hey Ryan, That's when you're browsing the main page of the forum. But I was actually talking about the page after you hit "View unread posts". ![]() Hugs to you |

Oh! I misunderstood. That's not a feature I ever use, and when I clicked on it, I got results going back a year. Given that I've done everything in that time period from clearing cookies to changing computers, I suspect that it takes unread posts very seriously and will not release them until they are read. Maybe it was even designed to be like that? "View New Posts" flushes itself out every few hours, so that's what I go with, myself. |

Awww, ok Ryan, thanks a bunch. I thought there was a way of doing that but I couldn't figure it out. ![]() |

Ryan's explanation is still the correct way. ![]() I'd suggest using the "View New Posts" link instead. It shows all the newest posts since your last visit and within a certain (short) timeframe. Very useful without a million links. |

Thanks Ratiocinator but I am doing the exact opposite. ![]() I don't want to check "View Unanswered Posts", but the "View unread posts". After reading Ryan's reply I started looking at the unread posts, checked all I wanted to check and then returned to the main page and marked all forums as read. Works like a charm. ![]() |

Like they said, though, "View new posts" is, to us, at least, the more optimal way of checking the forum. Of course it's preference. Hi Scarlet! |

I thought that View Unread would also show you the new posts.... well, basically it should show you everything new that happened during your absence. ![]() Hi Tom! Long time no see!!! Missed you guys! |
