How do you set the signatures up? I just registered and I have no idea how to do anything.

What kind of signature do you want? Text is very easy to do, you can do it from this site. Images are a bit harder since you have to use a service like TinyPics or Image Shack. Regardless, here's a quick demo:

At the top of any page there's an option for 'UserCP', click it. It brings you to the User Control Panel.


On the User Control Panel Page, under options, click Profile.


From the Profile options, click Edit Signature.


The resulting page looks just like the page you get when posting a reply. Anything you type in here will be your signature. Images go in image tags, which can be copy/pasted from a photo storage site like TinyPics.


There are restrictions on how big the signature can be, from the Forum Guidelines:

Quick (and possibly weird) question: how do I get my signature to appear on my posts without having to check off "Attach a signature" every time I make a post? I keep forgetting to do it, and I can't find a way to make it stay permanently.

1st, get into your account settings:


2nd, go to 'Board Preferences'


3rd, go to 'Edit Posting Defaults'


4th, click the option 'Yes' next to 'Attach my signature by default'

The picture with John Cleese smackng a car? That's an avatar. You can set it to whatever you want (within reason, Forum Guidelines specify no porno and you have to keep it to within a set size. For non-Cult Members, it's 100 x 100, but Cult Members get to have avatars 150 x 150 (A cult member is a person who contributes money to the board. I don't know the full details, but they have access to exclusive boards on here.)

Step 1: Go to User Control Panel.


Step 2: Go to Profile options.


Step 3: Go to Edit Avatar.


Step 4: Enter the URL of the avatar you use to use.


Step 5: Enter avatar dimensions and press submit.
