joseph meeting henry (little bit of spoilers)

Post by just a dead boy »

when henry meets joseph in his appartment you can see ghost candles all over the appartment. aren`t those of use to scare ghost away? so why can yoseph appear without fainting (like other ghosts) and just tell his story? maybe joseph isn`t really a ghost then...

There was no real explaination for Josephs' death. Simply put, he
disappeared. This may also be one of those SH unexplained things that
will be cause of endless threads. Joseph was not a fiend spirit. He seemed
to be a positive energy as in he was not out for blood. Joseph also
was not a "Victim". In my opinion, which is merely speculation, the Victims
are slaves to Walter's dream world, hence being negative spirits. There
is no exact definiton as to what the Holy candle repels but I feel that it
is negative energy. Joseph seemed like a positive spirit............with
news of doom and gloom.

It was also Joseph's old apartment.

Yes. He´s not a regular victim like the others, because he was trying to search for the truth of the Walter Sullivan story. His resistance against him, turned him into a "super ghost" :) .

I'd say more or less, since he went willingly into the cold bearing arms of death, he wasn't limited to the hinderings of all the other victims.
Value your failures more than your successes. Successes only last until someone screws them up. Failures are forever. She left...and...I'm lost.

thats pretty much how i would put it. its because he was so determined to stop walter, and that he gave up himself that he managed to keep his conciousness, and is trapped in his old room forever.
must get really boring... at least the other ghosts can float around and chase people
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal labotomy.

Benign may be the word you're looking for to describe him. But yeah, I got really annoyed with Joe's "Kill him...kill him...kill him"s.

If I have to go by what I've seen tonight, your post count of 33 consists of roughly 16.5 unique posts.

And 33 of them are in direct response to messages posted in the first half of Bush's second term.

Certainly there are more recent topics worthy of your double input.

Oops.

Sorry, I haven't really been noticing the date of the last response. I'll try to keep to the newer threads.

Jospeh's resistance had nothing to do w/ him becoming a super ghost. Walter intended to keep him conscious, otherwise Joseph wouldn't be able to turn Henry into the Receiver of Wisdom - which was one fundamental requirement for the ritual to succeed. It's all part of Walter's plan.

I would also say that is was part if Walter's plan.
I mean, c'mon, nothing else makes sense.
If it wasn't for Joseph, Walter would have been pretty screwed with the ritual.

I think Jospeh is actually dead, you start to talk to him in the apartment second time to unlock the chains, everytime he finish talking, he dissapear, and to look for him in the second place, that improves that he is a ghost, so he is already dead, the holly candle low the spirits' power and make them weak but it doesn't mean to kill them though, or kick them away, they will always return back...

I also think the whole "lack of a body, I pop out of the ceiling" thing indicates he's not alive anymore.
I'm not dead yet, dammit.

Maybe because Joseph is the "Giver of wisdom" of some sorts, as his memos help Henry find out more about Walter...so I guess that makes him a simple ghost for Henry rather than hauntings.

Yes, there is mention of it, and yes, Joseph is dead. He has to be, since he's the 15th Sacrament and only Henry and Eileen are still alive.
