Enemies in The Subway World

Post by Sgt Phantomizer »

I picked up SH4 about a month ago and started it the other night, i think it's the last one left for me to play as i own and have played and finished SH, SH2, SH3, SH: Origins, SH: Homecoming and SH: Shattered Memories.

That aside, i think the game is a bit odd being a SH game, but the atmosphere i top notch and thats what i like. Unfortunately, i'm also the kind of player that likes to explore every nook and cranny and with that said, is there ANY way to kill (permanently) the zombie/humanoid monsters in the Subway world? i beat it with the pipe (4 times + stomped them about a dozen times and more) and then filled them with lead, but they still got back up, none worse for wear.

Not being able to kill what chased me was one of the things that killed Shattered Memories for me, i hope thats not the case with SH4, or that at least these "humanoid monsters" are one of the very few that are invulnerable :?

Oh the ghosts? Nope you can't kill them at all, don't waste ammo on them. If you must, knock them down and run away. Or you can wear the Saint Medallions, this will keep them at bay.

I mean the enemies you encounter first when you go down the subway entrance where you use the coin...reason i want to verify is that those enemies didn't look like ghosts at all.

^ What sort of enemies? They looked like humans but they were floating, right? They're ghosts.

There's one way to stop the ghosts forever (that is, until you undo the trick).
I won't write any spoilers but you'll find such item later in the game.

But perhaps you're talking about the enemies that appear in the stairs, right out of the walls?

Yep, those. At least i assume they are those because right when you enter that area, there's the cutscene and then the monsters start appearing.

And they do float....i guess i skipped making the connection that if they float, their possibly ghosts

Actually there's another type of enemy that comes out of the walls. I believe they're called Wall-Men, I forgot. They're dark-yellow colored or something. You can kill those just fine.

With the ghosts, you'll find an item later in the game that can stop them from moving as I said earlier. But don't waste it in every ghost.
