just blow the bloody door off?

Post by Doo-glas »

what would happen if someone outside of Henry's apartment tried destroying his door to get in?

would they find it supernaturally impossible to get in just as as Henry finds it to get out?

Seeing as his apartment seems to be in another universe, they would end up in an empty apartment I believe, either that or an impossible to breech door, either way good question Doo-glas!

^ Yeah, that's it... You said what I was going to say! :P
Probably they would find a "Fire Exit' door or nothing, like Lostkitsune said, "his apartment seems to be in another universe" ;)

Great minds think alike Mephisto! Though I don't think they would find nothing, after all that would leave a big apartment sized chuck in St. Ashfield's that people would notice, I think they would find an apartment, just no hauntings,Henry, or anything like that.

They would see no reason to take such drastic measures because they don't know the full extent of the situation.
I'm not dead yet, dammit.

If they blew it down, they'd find a normal apartment, except Henry's not in it.

I'm with Lostkitsune and Krist on this one. If they did happen to enter Henry's apartment somehow with a battering ram or something of that sort, it'd be empty. However, nobody would do that because they really don't know the full extent of the situation, like Krist said.

they would eventually do it though, after assuming perhaps Henry had committed suicide or something

After Henry dies, the room would probably unlock itself like it did the last time.

this thread inspires the question, "what came first, 1408 or sh4?" l don't know when stevey wrote his 1408, so l's don'ts knows.

I wonder though IF it would work. After all Frank couldn't get the key to open the lock. That means the door itself already belongs to the Otherworld.

Of course, there is a difference between a key and blowing the door off, but then again it is Silent Hill, who knows what would happen?

Henry's room might be the only safe place in a nuclear war :D

1999 although it wasn't published in an anthology book until 2002

still, it's entirely possible that SH4 took inspiration from that story (and entirely impossible that the story took inspiration from SH4)

Yes, and no Henry would be found, just like Joseph.

The one that would possible break down the door is Braintree since he's the "mad one" at the whole building...

He doesn't have the right to do that, Sunderland would probably call the authorities.

Well, eventually they'd have to at least try to break down the door or something.

In agreement with the other posts, blowing the door off would just reveal an empty apartment. However, if it came down to it, Frank Sunderland would just use his roll of keys to unlock the door, at which point he'd notice nobody was in there, and figure "Hmm, he must not be home, I'll come back later", and walk away.

...a more likely reference is Repulsion or the Tenant by Roman Polanski.

Also, they might find Henry in there, sleeping or in a coma, just as Eileen.
