For future refrences for 'Your stupid' 'Your lying' people,this SERIOUSLY happened I have another person who viewed this with me and is also confused.
Now I'm confused as hell when I first played this game I purposely got Mother ending, now in that version Eileen says that she should probably go back to her apartment or something along those lines and Henry looks like he was stabbed emotionally. Basically upset. And that's it.
I just beat on New Fear Mode expecting to get the good ending because I excorcised all my hauntings instead Eileen says her 'I guess I should go back to South Ashfield Heights now line' and Henry smiles and nods like in Escape ending and this time it goes through the apartment and shows it's still possessed and my ending says 'Mother'
Um...what the hell? Why did I get two different versions of Mother ending?
Again,I had someone with me who watched the ending with me and knows what happened.
I played it on XBox and its an original copy not a Greatest Hits or whatever the equivalent is for XBox

Are you sure you accurately read Henry's emotional reaction the first time you received that ending? There's only one version of that ending and he always nods at Eileen when she says that line. That's all I can think of, that your memory of first seeing the ending was a bit muddled.
It could.. just be a bug? Honestly, that's all I can think of, though I haven't heard of this before.
To get the good ending, btw, Eileen can't be too seriously injured and your apartment has to be cleared. So.. through your next game play, don't give Eileen a weapon, don't bump into her when you're running around, and don't leave her with monsters.

I really think my games screwed up... Because I had more people with me when I did it and second time it seemed to be a mix of Escape and Mother...
I do get a lot of glitches

I could believe that the game's just a bit buggy and called different cutscene strings when it meant to call others or even stop playing cutscenes. But then again, you said you are playing on only the Xbox-- it's only the Xbox 360 that seems to have backward-compatibility glitches with Silent Hill games.

That's the strange thing,I move the controller away from myself to prevent that but wouldn't it skip the credits if I were to do that? I watched the credits, I dunno there was an incident with the window where the whole area became darker instead of just looking outside and after that everything over time became real screwy... Its my brothers XBox and he got it years ago and the game is rather old itself...

Usually, when you skip a cutscene, it just goes to the next cutscene. At least, I would think that's the case for the ending where it has one scene file played after the other. But then again, now that I think about it, Henry's epilogue with Eileen and the scene of the apartment are all one continuous file. The character models and cameras have a specific set of directions to follow, and if you cancel out of that operation, you probably would just get placed at the end credits.
From what it sounds like, when you described the window getting darker instead of looking outside sounds like an actual glitch and might have something to do with your brother's Xbox having damage to it's video card.
Does the xbox have a history of being placed in poorly ventilated areas? I've got a long history of problems with just anything microsoft made and their video cards or motherboards literally frying under their own heat.

Yes I do believe his room is poorly ventilated...It has been taken to other places to and kept in a suitcase before and he's gone quite often and its kept on the shelf where the windows practically never aired.

I have a question for anyone willing to answer,does Mother ending have the scene where the whole ritual area starts shaking Eileen falls and Henry reaches out saying Eileen and also Henry limping away from the apartment than the 'The Next Day' thing.
