James DOES Appear In SH4, Possibly

In the Apartment World, in room 301, there's the red photo of Frank, taken when he was "much younger". It's kind of hard to see, but the picture appears to be of Frank in a darkish sweater on the right, with a man standing to his left with his arm around him. His face is blacked out in the photo. I believe this is James.

It's also worth noting that to me the blackened out part that covers his head appears vaguely triangular in shape. A reference to Pyramid Head, perhaps?

I'd take a screenshot but I play it on my PS2 and my camera doesn't take great pictures of my TV screen. If anyone has the PC version and wants to take a screenshot, that would be great.

Until then, check it out for yourselves. What do you think? Is this a picture of James and his father?

I'd like to see a picture of this.

Even if it was true, however, it would be of no surprise. A photo of a father and his son isn't uncommon.

Tinkered with my camera's settings and got a fuzzy but decent image of it.

Then again, the shirt on the faceless man looks like Henry's. But why would there be a picture of Frank and Henry together? I know he gave Henry the picture and all, but were Henry and Frank close? My understanding was Henry didn't really talk to anyone in the building.

I agree. I believe that it is more likely to be James Sunderland in the picture. Unless Frank and Henry have a friendship that is only alluded to in a subtle manner.

I don't know, but it is. There is at the very least a picture of Frank in Mike's room, pictured above. Henry himself says "this is a picture of the super, from when he was much younger". It's the same picture Frank's room key is taped to the back of. This has never been a subject of dispute.

Mike also has a picture of Rachael on the adjoining wall.

But it most likely is just Frank.

Oh, Frank's in it. That much is said, but this picture clearly is of TWO people. Henry never says "this is a picture of me and the super". He just doesn't comment on the other figure. Likely because he has no idea who the other guy is and, Henry being Henry, doesn't care.

Frank is just in Henry's words "much younger" than he is NOW. Don't forget how long ago James vanished, though.

James was in his late 20s or early 30s in SH2 in 1994. Silent Hill 4 takes place close to a decade following SH2. Frank is getting up there in age. The picture could have been taken the day before James vanished and Frank would still be much younger in the picture by at least seven years.

I'm pretty sure these are the red photos in room 301â€”Mike's room. We know about Mike's obsession w/ Rachel, and it's clearly a photograph of a nurse, and the same nurse w/ an unknown man w/ his face scratched out. I'm inclined to say these, then, are in fact Rachel and her boyfriend.

Rachel's boyfriend was also an artist, and although it's hard to tell, it looks like one of those canvas standing on the left side of the picture.

Additionally, for Frank to have been "much younger," how old would Rachel have to be?

My problem still lies with the fact that it is the Rachel/Boyfriend picture that you actually click on in Mike's room where Henry states in no uncertain terms that THAT PICTURE is of a much younger Frank.

Go ahead. Go play the game. See for yourself. That is the picture.
