How do i use the sword of Obedience?

Post by Spikeyroxas »

Im currently in m first playthrough of silent hill 4 : The Room.
I have only used 1 health drink so far and im up to the bit where you encounter the ghost of cynthia.
I want to stick her in the ground now then grab the sword back later but i cant use the sword.
I made a video of my last attempt : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDjZA0PZ ... tube_gdata
(lol she gets stuck at one point :P)
anyway after excusing my fail charged attacks i keep button mashing the USE ITEM button when shes down but she gets up and henrys just there looking at the sword like "hell no am i using this fine piece of Ebay material on this bitch"
How do i do it?
I dont want to use Silver Bullets/Saint Medallians/Holy Candles as i am saving them for later.
Please advise. (and no i dont want to just run away from her)
Thanks =]

I think you're like really desperate. . . just slashing/smacking her and keep pushing the square button. . .

Just beat the ghost until he/she falls down. If it shows any sign that it isn't going to get up then use the sword on it. It's easy. Good luck.
Oh, and I don't think you'll be able to get that sword back after you leave that subway area.

Also: This should be on the "Daddy help me!" part of the Forum.

Oh sorry...
I have been trying that, did you see the vid? Everytime she went down i was pressing the 'X' (xbox) button because i thought she was going to be down for longer than half a second...

^ Just keep attacking when she's ready to stand up. After some little time she (like other ghosts) will "give up" leaving you the moment to stab her. 8)

I would suggest using the Silver Bullet on her. From what I've read of my guide for the game, her and Andrew are the ones most worthy of using a Silver Bullet.

So. . . It won't happen.

Cynthia is definitely one of the hardest ghosts to pin. If you have a silver bullet and she's giving you trouble, bust a cap in dat bitch. Basically, if you don't need to use a silver bullet on Cynthia, you won't need to use one on any of the other ghosts.

I didn't pin any ghosts down during my first playthrough and I learned that lesson the hard way lol. On my second playthrough, I though Cynthia's ghost was pretty easy compared to the other ones.

I know that. But there's only a few ghosts in the game that are worthy of a Silver Bullet, and I should think that Cynthia would be one of them. As far as I know, only 3 are really Sword of Obedience-worthy, and of those three from what I've read in the guide so far, Cynthia and Andrew are the most annoying.

I personally think you should save the silver bullets for later... i can't name the ghosts for the sake of not spoiling.

I already know :P
thanks for help people
ill try smashing her face to the ground after shes down instead of button mashing the sword.
If it doesnt work then maybe ill grab and use that silver bullet in the next area.

EDIT:
i have pinned her! It took some charger axe attacks and alot of hitting when she was on the ground but eventually i knocked her down to the corner and had plenty of time to waltz on up to her and shove a sword into her not so fyn a$$.
It took only 1 health drink bit i found 2 shortly after and i just walked through all the train car area without Any distrubtion or need to haste.

Great! I'm glad you finally managed to do it.

OH. A little hint here. In the Forest World, you'll encounter another ghost... just ditch Eileen at Wish House and you can get through that ghost's areas with very little problem; don't bother pinning him.

Jasper?
Yeah the forest has wide open areas, i should be able to leave him.
Ditch eileen? Doesnt that make her more possessed?

Yeah, Jasper. I didn't want to spoil it in case you hadn't gotten that far.

Not if you leave her in a safe area, as far as I know. I did that several times and she was fine, still moved very slowly at the end.

Yeah ive seen playthroughs of this before but it feels so different when your actually playing it.
For example my first haunting was my slippers, i was staring at them for like 5mins before i mved away. Then (as shown in my OP video) i got the clock.
Ive cleared them both now and havnt got another 1 yet.
I like eileens help though :D
oh yeah, does a ghosts aura hurt eileen like it does henry? If so that would suck

I wish that this would have happened when I played the game.
