The reason i loved this games story so much
was that everyone (not all you guys) or mostly everyone
didnt see how genius this one really was...
it all came together at the end, plus i like
how it had a serial killer! lol

Anyways, i liked the part where you said you and your
friend played, i was also a bit freaked from
this and i had to have help
from my friend also and we finally beat it!

I say give it another go, i always have to
FORCE myself to beat a silent hill game,
except for SH3 which i got stuck on in the sewers -.-

Also, the scariest part to me was...the haunting
where you look through the door hole
and you see henry on the otherside
covered in blood whispering some kind
of ritual or some sht, gave me nightmares
for about 2 months -.-

The peep hole was definitely one of the bits that freaked me! LOL Nearly everything that happened through there was weird! Personally, the room was generally the most disturbing part of the game..mostly because you start off thinking 'nice happy haven' and then the bad stuff starts leeching through, and you're not even safe there anymore. I actually found that really unnerving out of everything.

Lol my friend was new to the whole series when he helped me, so when me and him came back to the room and he walked out to the front room and saw the little baby heads on the wall he flipped out like hell broke loose!

but yea, this was one of the most disturbing one of the series...it got very annoying when you were hurt when you went to a specific spot in the room, like when you went into one corner and the screen flashed red and you got hurt....yea....soon the whole house turns like that and its hard to get anywhere in the room...

Yeah, not only had the room stopped healing you, it actually *hurt* you....not very friendly at all! LOL That's why I tried to use the candles to expel the badness as much as possible, so at least it wouldn't hurt me. I liked playing around with the phone too LOL

Just like the Woods 2nd coming - keep her where the wish house is and do all your chores.
I read somewhere that letting her get damag or leaving her by herself will cause you to have the bad ending, is this true?
There are specific places where u can keep her safely. not just anywhere.
During the forest world second time, the only safe place to keep her is in the middle area with the burnt down Hope House. anywhere else will render her vulnerable.

No, you're not being a wimp at all. I felt like that during my first playthrough. I was stuck on something, and I was at the part where my apartment stopped healing me, and got fed up with it. Then I picked back up on it a few months later and started from the beginning.

I've beaten it twice since then :]

I've still only beaten Silent Hill 4 twice. I found it difficult to get through because it seemed considerably less interesting than the first three.

I finished prt4 numerous times....needless to say that i feel it has one of the strongest storylines in the series...the concept of being locked up in your room was disturbing and surreal....it felt very different from the other games in the series, yet it still felt like a silent hill game...and regardless of it's exemption of the flashlight, the otherworlds were still interesting, creepy and disturbing...

The game may start off slow, but i like the way it builds up the intensity....as soon as you're comfortable with the room being your safehouse, the whole situation quickly starts to deteriorate...i loved the split personalities of both adult and toddler walter and the notion and obsession of the room being his mother...truly weird and unreal concepts...

The first half is the tedious one for me, after you reach the hospital the game gets more interesting... I never felt that Eyleen was a chore, it must be because she is a good fighter... Maria and Ashley are a lot more annoying... I got used to Eyleen pretty fast... Also, the worlds are so cool in the second half...

It's funny how everybody bitches about the unkillable victims in SH4 but everybody loves the unkillable raw shocks in SHSM; you shouldn't fight the vistims, YOU SHOULD RUN FROM THEM!!

To be fair, i understood the concept as to why you had to run from the raw shocks and i also understood their (the rawshocks) purpose,...i just thought that whole otherworld concept was poorly implemented....

I had a similar problem my first playthrough. When I saw that it was in FP in the apt, I turned the game off.
When I got killed from the dogs in the Subway, I turned the game off.
It must have been half way through when I stopped playing completely out of annoyance from the game.

Then about 1 year later, after I finished all my christmas games from that year, I decided to give SH4 a try again, and I destroyed it. I am so glad I persevered through the annoying portions so that I could get to the better levels... Water Prison ayone? I was ultimately satisfied with the game. I don't rank it with the others, but it's in the Top 25 games of my lifetime. haha.
I don't make a signature.
Except for the part of the signature explaining that I don't.
And that.
And that.
And that.
...
...and that.

Water Prison is up there in favorite levels of mine, in any of the SH games I have played.

Yes and the ghosts got less annoying when I figured out to *only* run from them but sometimes you cannot and theyre quick little turds.

The ghosts can also be less annoying if you "pin" the boss ghosts...i remember playing the game and not pinning any of the boss ghosts, and i remember being in this one particular section of the game..(it might've been apt world) where all of the boss ghosts and the other generic ghosts were chasing me....ever since that scenario, i make sure to pin all of the boss ghosts...
