fire arms in 4
im glad to see that in 4 close combat weapons are the main stay weapons again because 3 in my opinion made you rely on fire arms a lot more but did any one use the guns in 4 much? i personly only used them on the last boss and nowhere else... not even 1 single shot until the final battle any one else do this?
...hell was full... so i came back...

>that fight is impossible
? on my second time around i didnt shoot him with the silver bullet cos that was too easy and beat ten tons of crap out of him then impaled him with sword of obedience... i never shot him, it was a little challanging but was by no means impossible... then again i was on normal not hard

I liked the up-close and personal weapons a lot more in SH4, I think that the Handgun would have been a lot better had the ammo stacked in your inventory rather than took up 1 place per 10 bullets, that just seemed like a perfect way to make the pistol useless, you can hold 1 whole pickaxe in 1 inventory slot, but 1 box of bullets takes up 1 slot too, erm wtf bbq?
M.
EDIT - I also beat the crap out of Desalvo each time, I use my Silver bullets on Cynthia and Jasper, it makes sense because Cynthia and Jasper show up at any given time (Building World 2nd time, woods, all over the trainstation etc) and Braintree and Desalvo only appear at places where you can just walk past them, so it's much simpler.

well the 4th time i played the game i used it on the wall creatures up the escalator(subway world 1st visit), 2nd visit was easier with the rusty axe .>i used the handgun for ghosts(silver bullets)
So did I. I didn't use it any other time tho...
edit: would have used it more often if the clips took just one inv space instead of one space per clip.
2nd and final(4 now) version of my tv jail sig :D

Only ever used the handgun to take out the wall creatures in the subway world first time to clear the route later when Henry comes back with Eileen. Used a silver bullet on a couple of playthroughs out of laziness to beat de Salvo (never had a problem beating him with the rusty axe), just takes a couple of minutes). I usually use the bar you get given at the start until the rusty axe turns up. The bar's got nice and quick attacks, but it pales in comparison to that charged rusty axe attack (looks so meaty and painful too, just like the overhead swing of the hammer in SH1).

I didnt use any firearms. I dont actually kill anything the whole way though. The single boss fight in the game I used one of the melee weapons same with the end boss. The dogs are a little harder to juke this time around so it was more to run past everybody. The first time I played silent hill 1 i missed the shotgun in both places and i managed to miss the rifle. Spent the whole game with the hammer, It's been my favorite weapon ever since.
