Well, hello there.
Seeing as how this section is empty, I feel like changing that.

Pet shop massacre time!

Alright, here goes:
My favorite part of Silent Hill 4.

Okay, to get this nifty-assed little somewhat of an event,

do not forget to read the newspapers out back of the pet shop at the top of the stairs in the building world the second time. You will get a nice treat if you do. You'll find out what happened to Steve Garland and the pets in the shop.
You'll also get to see the aftermath of the event, which is quite chilling if you love animals.

Well, just felt like contributing. I'm not totally sure, but I think that event contributes to seeing the orange tabby-cat ghost.
Feel free to discuss.

You can catch the kitty cat running up a flight of stairs if you're quick enough.
Only problem is, no one can remember which set of stairs it is.....
When I tried to play through again to see it and make sure, I couldn't find it. I think it is totally random, like most of the things in this game.

I didn't know that about the ghost cat...hummmm

Yeah I enjoy that part of the game also. It makes me so sad to hear those noises when leaving the pet shop.

I don't remember the cat, I'll look for it next time.

But, the thing that happens after looking at the newspapers scared the hell out of me.

It's a Fleetwood Mac thing, you wouldn't understand.

It is always a tough decision to play this game. I usually want to but never get around to it.

yeah, the cat is there, if you remember to look for it. BUT, it is random, so you could play through several times and never see it.

I'd kill for a chance to play The Room again. I have so many essays and tests upcoming that the few minutes I manage to lurk/post here are all I really get.

On topic: I've played the through the Pet Shop several times and have never seen the cat. I've read every newspaper, but still haven't triggered it yet. How are you suppose to do it?

Ok... now what happens if you catch that darn cat I never saw...?
Do I get a powerup, a hole into Elieens bathroom or just a splattered ghost under my shoe?

I found a screen shot on the Konami official game site. I've personally never seen the Pet shop massacre, but I know that they normal petshop isn't like this http://tinyurl.com/abhd6

(The link leads to the Konami site, I just used tinyurl.com to avoid a freakin huge web address)

Anyway, is the pic a screenshot of the Petshop massacre?

It's the first floor of South Ashfield Heights, seen at an angle removed from the game.
