can i just equip the saint medallion to exorcise the ghosts inside henry's apartment?
Or the ghosts must be exrocised by using the holy candles?

I'm rubbish at SH4 (only completed it twice, and am in no hurry to do it again), but I think the candles exorcise the hauntings in the appartment and the medallions stop Henry getting a headache when ghosts are nearby.

I THINK.

Also you can surround Eileen with candles and it'll "cure" her of her possession.

I THINK.

If you wear a medallion it stops Henry being hurt by the ghost's aura, and it can also be used to exorcise ghosts in the apartment, but I wouldn't recommend it because it's not particularly economical.

I'm not totally sure what candles do in the worlds against ghosts, but I think they can weaken them so they take less of a beating before you can knock them down, as well as giving you aura protection. In the apartment though they can be used to exorcise by laying them down near the haunting.

The Saint Medallion will kill the spirit in your apartment. That's how I got rid of it. It takes 2 or 3 medallions. Unless you use them like it's your babysitter around the ghosts, then you should have enough. I never used a candle in the game.

The medallions will break really fast in the apartment though, I used candles on my last play through and just used the medallions in the worlds.

Medallions dont kill the ghosts only protect you. Candles get rid of hauntings in the apartment.

Yup, that does work BUT... a little tip, you can do it but if you dont move in awhile her wounds return to normal. (what they were befor you use them) so you have to go into a door right away befor the candle fades to bug it and eileen is healed.

I think the Saint Medallion makes you slightly invicible to any hauntings/spirits,until they break that is. It's not gonna stop the ghosts from attacking you,but it will deal with the headaches/psychic trauma.
Now when it comes to vanquishing ghosts you use the Sword of Obedience.
And when you want to eliminate hauntings in your apartment you light your Holy Candles near them.
I reject your reality and substitute my own :]

Candles work to get rid of hauntings in your apartment and heal Eileen in certain places in the game. The haunting which appears on the wall that looks like cracks or 'blotchy patches' will only go away if you have the medallion on and walk up to it (you can see the cracks disappear). It will use up one whole medallion so use them sparingly throughout the game if you want to keep the cracks off the wall in your apartment.

Also, the medallions will only keep Henry from losing life around ghosts when the screen flashes red. Personally, I'd save the medallions for your apartment and just run around the ghosts if you want a certain ending.

Hauntings can be exorcised with either a Candle or a Saint Medallion, but it usually damages the Medallions heavily to remove a haunting. Holy candles always exorcise hauntings as long as they are placed within the damage area.

Saint medallions outside the apartment prevent all damage from a victim's aura until they break, and may slow victims down/weaken them? (not completely sure about this) Also, some weaker victims are immobilised temporarily if a Medallion affects them for long enough.

Agree'd

Not so. Only medallions will exorcise the wall cracks. Have you tried placing a candle near the wall crack haunting?

>weaker victims are immobilised temporarily if a Medallion affects them for long enough.
I guess I never hang around the ghosts long enough to test that.

Are you sure? I used holy candles to get rid of that haunting, but I remember it being a particularly stubborn one. The first candle burned down very quickly, and the haunting didn't disappear completely. The second candle finished it off.

Maybe it was me being retarded.

I couldn't place a candle near the wall cracks close enough to affect it. I would place the candle by the couch (because that was the closest place it would let me) and it did the same thing, burn out real fast. So I used the medallion and stood by it and watched it dissapear.

I did notice the cracks dissipate a little even if you did nothing, but they never went away completely unless I used the medallion.

Anyway, I just finished it a couple of days ago again and received the Escape ending. I have found new love for it so I'll give it another go and try the candles. I swear though, I couldn't place them right.

Ok, it's really simple. For every candle you have, you can get rid of one entire ghost/haunting in your apartment. Stand right in front of the ghost/haunting so the screen is red then select the candle and press X. MAKE SURE YOUR CLOSE ENOUGH OTHERWISE IT WONT WORK! The ghost/haunting shoud disapear just before the candle goes out. Oh, and stand back so u don't get hurt while the ghost/hauning is being expelled.

As for the meddallions, yes, they can be used to get rid of ghosts in the apartment. Simply highlight it in your inventory and press X and an E will appear on the medallion, signaling it's equipped. Now stand in front of the ghost/haunting and you'll hear some moans. As long as the screen dosn't turn red and the medallion is flashing/fluttering, your expelling the ghost/haunting. BE WARNED! It may take an entire medallion and some of another to get rid of an entire haunting. YES, they break over time. It may be best to use medallions on ghost/haunting you failed to expell with a candle.

You can also equip a medallion in the "other" world or when it's 3rd person view. It will also flash/flutter when a ghost is near. BE WARNED! Your medallions will break over time. It is a good idea to save 1 or 2 for building world 2nd time.

Your welcome.

Oh, and yes, it is possible to heal Eileen's wounds with a holy candle. However it's very hard and I've never attempted it. Your better off keeping her out of as many fights as possible through the game. If u want to try, u can find out how at cheatcc.com or gamefaqs.com or any website like those.
