Technically, in the game the demon wasn't in her. I was under the assumption that the powers were natural to Alessa, just as they were in Claudia in SH3.

My thoughts in the Lisa/Red Nurse cameo:
If I wasn't a fanboy, I would be weird and shocked and confused. But I know alot about Lisa, and that makes me lucky. I enjoyed that part. But I really loved the fact that she is there to portray that even though they are in the midst of darkness, somebody is still looking after an injured person and for Alessa, she is the only person she can interact with. Although she has injured Lisa, Lisa still looks after her.

i found lisa to be pretty pointless, though i felt that way about much of the movie. seriously, what was the significance of showing her aside from saying "hey look sh fans, it's lisa! remember her? okay, that's enough of lisa. now, moving on..."

She's pointless if you're looking at the film and expecting her role to be equal to what it was in the videogame. in the film, she's basically there to show just how much Alessas rage had grown. She was so angry that she lashed out at this innocent but "curious" person who was helping to take care of her. I felt sorry for her in the film, but not nearly as sorry as i felt for her when i first played Silent Hill. i can remember my exact words were "thats fucked up" after her dramatic scene in the first game.

point taken. i just didn't really feel sorry for alessa in the movie. i did in the game, though. i guess the vibes i got from the movie were 'she's so angry, she probably doesn't even feel the pain anymore' rather than in the game, she's so sad & innocent & unloved & you just want to give her a grand old hug...only not so much give her a hug.

Lisa was a great addition, she didn't do anything to move the plot forward or even speak, but when yousaw her and realised who it was was great. As for why Alessia did it to her, why not? she was striking out at anyone she came across, not just the cult members who hurt her. Remember Gucci said that alot of good people died in the fires aswell as the bad ones. Lisa was probably just collateral damage.
1. Don't try to make the movie fit with the game storyline. It just doesn't work. They're two entirely different entities, one based off the other.
3. Don't wonder where two went.
4. Maybe the nurse isn't actually blind, but only feels pain, can see herself in mirrors and see pain, and knows she looks hideous compared to her previous 'princess-like-ness'. Which is why she can change bandages. I mean, really, if you could do all kinds of things to people, you might as well keep some one you need around.
A whole kind of, mental state.
5. Why are there the appearances and nods to the game if the movie is to be taken outside of the game? Because it's based on the game.
I know my joined date, and every thing, but sometimes I have to wonder about the logic of some of these people.

Im reading this forum for almost 3 years, but right now, I feel this urge to reply...
It seems to me that most of you guys didn't even understand this hole new "Alessa/Reaper"-thing in the movie. In Silent Hill, Alessa was supposed to gave birth to the God of a occult sect, right? And she was burned to nearly death to get her powers under control.
BUT in this movie, Alessa is just a girl. Her mother was part of a super-right winged fundamentalistic, puritarian christian community, and when she became pregnant, she wasnt married. That was a sin, and the leaders of the community wanted to burn her - to whipe out the sin.
She survived, but not because of any supernatural powers, but just by luck. And when she awake from the coma, the reaper/bad Alessa (whatever you like to call her), approached her and offered her the opportunity to a revenge.
If you consider this, Silent Hill The Movie is much more like Silent Hill 2, where an evil power tries to punish people for their sins. The puritan community is James Sunderland: Both did an terrible crime, and both ended in a purgatory where they are punished for their sins.
Remember the puriants believe to be the only survivors of the apocalypse? The apocalypse was their dead, and now their souls are stuck in the nightmarish world the little girl could create with the powers the Reaper gave her.
I could be terribly wrong, but tell me one point in the whole movie where the young Alessa is shown doing something... magic or godlike. Or something like that is mentioned.
