The Nurses
Anyone else think the nurses were ridiculous?
There costumes were really well done and all but the way they moved it looked ridiculous, and I really don't know why they showed them in the movie to have weapons like knives they should have given them guns
Thoughts?

The Nurses in the games primarily use knives. SH3 was the only one in which they used guns.
I think monsters with guns would have been out of place in the film.

Shadows that look like blood
Dead as far as the mind goes
Fear that comes from my head

If I am not wrong, the nurses in the movie carried various weapons ranging from knives to steelpipes.
And I think the nurses looked 'ridiculous' (although I think they're pretty cool cuz they're my favourite bunch of monsters) because of the sounds of their high heel shoes? LOL XD!!!
It's not easy to try and immitate the moves of monsters and not make it look ridiculous.
If the movie nurses does look ridiculous to you in terms of movements, has it ever occured to you that the director instructed the dancers/actresses that the nurses in the game moved in a certain manner but it doesn't look 'nice' when filmed and acted out by someone real?
Take for example the resident evil zombies. Dancers were appointed to play the role of the hundreds of zombies and the director instructed the dancers to move EXACTLY the way a zombie in the game should move like.
But it turned out awful so they improvise.
It could be the same case for Silent Hill movie version of the nurses.

Amen, but I didn't think the Zombie's were TOO bad in Resident Evil but they kinda ruined the movies for me by following the story line of the original Resident Evil too closely. They should have never put in Jill that was ridiculous.
I like Silent Hill a lot though but there were a few set backs I guess you could say. Defenetly buying it when it comes out

I thought they looked a bit silly in the movie, not much to complain about though, they were alright.
The thing I didn't care for was them killing each other...I thought that was kinda dumb and took away from their intimidating presence...so I guess they nurses were blind in the movie because they couldn't tell what they were lashing out at...either that or they just didn't give a flying fuck.

I think there should have been more of them. maybe spread out so she could get them with a steel pipe! then it would have been more of an action movie I suppose. I didnt care for the scene where they killed themselves. Its just seemed like an easy way to get out of that and move to something else quickly.
They WEREN'T moving, they WERE in fact dancing -- and that was ridiculous, those disturbing and creepy jerking movements that they had in the game were substituted with these ridiculous movements.
I just rewatched the movie in a smaller theater and I can say nothing except that they spoiled yet another creepy and brilliant game!

I quite liked the nurses tbh ... the movements seemed pretty spot on compared to the bubblehead nurses in sh2. Ands the light thing makes perfect sense. It was like the mannequins in silent hill 2. The light"activated" them, making them do their job of keeping people away.
I thoguht them killing eqach other was also ingenious to stop Rose suddenly going all amazing and taking down a group of nurses. That was my fave ssene .... had me and my friend on the edge of our seats.

There's just no pleasing everybody... you can only please yourself. I'm pleased, (...well, not to say that I'm satisfied though, there's a difference) so what the fuck do I care if others haven't been? all I can say is I'd be willing to watch it all over again, which is more than what I can say for so many flicks out there.

Well, it was a trial to see if Rose was ingenius enough to get through. They weren't SUPPOSED to be able to stop her, really.I hated they way they walked, really stiff. And why were they completely blind when they didn't have light? What's the point of having enemies that can't see in slight darkness in a room with slight darkness? It's like sending a blind man to a watchpost.
to be honest i really liked the nurses! my only problem was that there wasnt enough of them (i mean enough footage of them because there was a good large abount of them heh)
the way they moved my of seemed silly BUT it was fucking weird and just not how normal people move therefore it was ace

I think, that's the beauty of it.Harrier wrote:They WEREN'T moving, they WERE in fact dancing -- and that was ridiculous, those disturbing and creepy jerking movements that they had in the game were substituted with these ridiculous movements.

If you look at it through a dancer's point of view, think of it as a twisted ballet ^^
I cannot change your mind. If you think that it's stupid, it's stupid forever.
But I beg to differ.

it wasn't their high heels making the sound, it was their bodies cracking and breaking out of their stiffness. i thought the scene was nice and worked well in the context of the film, but from the perspective of what it COULD have been, if they'd gone less hollywood and more indie, it could have been done better. it felt like, "oh, we need to use the nurses cos the fans like 'em, but where can we stick them in?" actually a lot of the film felt that way.

Honestly... I dont see the reason why you have to be so bothered by the friggin movements of the nurses. In fact, it wasnt all that bad, I think their movements added to their hostile appearance and the fact that they are monsters.
(Btw, me and Ebru(friend of mine) made this amazing imitation of the nurses, I'm posting it in YouTube so that y'all can see, as for now, anticipate for it =D!)
