The Alessa Car Scene

Post by Moosefrenzy »

I noticed this while watching at the movies, but now that I have it on DVD I'm sure of it. I wish that they would have shown Alessa walking across the road a little more. It was real short and that's the part where I think alot of people who didn't know the series began to get lost. Alessa was coming in from the side but it wasn't as prominent as in the game. I wish we would have seen her walk a little more in front of the car for our standpoint as well as others who weren't expecting what was about to occur and may have wondered why she crashed so suddenly instead of thinking the wheels slipped or she lost control of the jeep.

I was a bit confused as to how they crashed. When Rose got out of the jeep, it was in the middle of the road. It didn't touch the cliff. Yet she whacked her head pretty hard on the wheel. Her emergency break procedure can't be that good :P

I actually preferred how it happened in one of the TV spots. You see the jeep go straight through Alessa, showing that she's actually a ghost and it looks like the jeep is spinning into the cliff.

Yeah, that was cool.

I dont think she was meant to hit the cliff though ;p In the game, isnt it the older Alessa that walks into the road anyway?

I've been miffed on that one...

SH1 spoilers...
PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER_SHOW PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER:
In the game, is the Alessa that we see in the school/lighthouse/fairground meant to be 14? And we only see child Alessa once, right at the end fighting with Dahlia?
But in the film, we don't see Alessa at all until she's killing everyone, we only see The Demon.

I dunno, it's all a bit out of key. Saying that, Harry crashes into the cliff whereas Rose doesn't

That's...very true. Didn't think of that. See this is why I don't like all the little changes Christophe made :P Throws everything out of whack.

To answer Mooses original question...I can see how you'd think that newcomers to SH wouldn't understand what happened - we do only see The Demon very briefly and don't see it again until later in the film by which point we could've forgotten what we saw. If, however, we already know what The Demon is and that it's that walking into the road, we only need a very quick glimpse to know what's going on.

That's a bit of babble...I know what I mean anyway :D

I was gonna say the same thing, I wonder why Christophe had that part cut out, it looked very well done with The Demon becoming like mist when Rose crashed into her.
