If both Sharron and rose are in the foggy world (hence how Christabella found her near the end) then that means that when rose, cybil and anna were in the hotel room 111 just before they jumped through the window to get to the burnt "factory" they were like, a few metres away from each other?...if alessa put sharron there

Also, is the burnt "factory" where the "first burning" of alessa?
I mean, thats where they all head when dahlia gives her up, then there is still the symbol "of their faith" hanging down on which alessa was burnt, and the same place she says "look, im burning"
or is this old news?

If I am not mistaken, the burned "factory" is the church. At least it looks the same place.

It looks like a very similar place, but i dont think its a church,

Like in the making of, they always refere to it as the "burnt down factory" i might be remembering wrongly but when rose is jumping across the beams, is it all burning below her? is that the "fires still burning deep underground" that the police officer is on about?

I just got done watching the movie, but I dont remember any flames below her, although the "little girl" that rose sees on the other side catches on fire and fire engulfs the walls. Thats the only place in the movie that, that happens.

They didn't mention anything about the flames under the beams. They did say something about something bad happened there, but thats all.

I believe that maybe either Dahlia found Sharon and is protecting her by putting her into maybe Dahlia's room or if Alessa placed her in the room. There is a big chunk of gap between the two scenes though so it probably isn't known anyway if Sharon was there from the start or if she was just put there maybe after Rose and company was searching (it would have been cool if they investigated a bit more and maybe found little items here and there).

I'm sure Sharon was found by Dahlia shortly after Dahlia first met Rose. Sharon was probably in the Drug Store hid by Dahlia since then.

The Hotel Room 111 leads to the Factory NEXT to the Hotel. In the Factory was a SPECIAL ROOM that the cult used for purifying,etc... This was not their Church but another sacred place for them. This is where Alessa was burnt. You can probably only get in from the Hotel.

This is the same place Rose talks to Dark Alessa ("See, I'm burning"). This is also where the underground mine fire FIRST started during Alessa's burning. You can see the mines burning below when Rose tries to cross the gaping hole.

The cult fled this place when the fire started...they did NOT die here. Then Gucci and Dahlia shortly after found Alessa all burnt....

Are you sure about this? Because in that scene where Alessa is being burned the scenario looks like the church.

oO~

Its not the church its the building by the hotel. You even see them meet there. Alessa also says they had met there many times befor there to clense the land of sin... or somthing like that.

In the extras, the facory is actually the church. They filmed the church part first. Then turned into that factory.

It looks like the church yeah, thats why i started this thread, because theres so much to show that the factory is where they did the 1st burning. with the thing they burnt her on still hanging down from the ceiling, the fact it is burnt, the fact theres that circular dip bit with alessa int middle and alessa burns when rose sees her.

But i think its a bit strange how they didnt use the church for the first burning....or maybe they didnt want the "sin" in their sancuary

to me i always thought the 1st burning was in that factory. the evidence is there. the flashback may have looked like the church but if u think, thefactory wud have loked very different back then, so it probably was the factory. it makes perfect sense to me. its funny how all the fragments come together. Alessa procliming that she is burning, and the symbol of the cults faith. i agree with the above post.

The "factory" is the secret room in the church. Remember, Rose, Cybil and Anna went through the portrait and found the room where the cult burned Alessa.

Remember that 111 was behind the painting of the witch burning. This was the same room in front of which Dahlia gives Alessa over to Christobella when we see everyone standing inside, waiting. They were going to the room next door. The fires, though burned out of control after they started burning Alessa, and they weren't able to see it through. Officer Gucci rushed in and saved Alessa, and she was taken to the hospital, where the demon first approached her with the idea of revenge.

If you look below Rose as she's crossing the beams, you can see the fires still burning deep beneath the precipice where Alessa is. They wouldn't have burned her on the holy symbol; it was likely filled with stained glass or clear glass and used as a sky light before the fire, judging by it's position.

I really don't think it was connected to the church at all. It seems to have been a fake hotel room that expands out into an abandoned auditorium, perhaps in the building next door? Or maybe even in the hotel itself as an unseen "back side." It would make sense for the cult to have used this as a place for their rituals so it wouldn't be out of place for the same things to be there like they were in the church.

When we get a shot of the church we can tell that it's a free standing feature.

Plus. You know. The fact that the ladies have to run to get to the church and that's *far* away from the hotel kinda proves that the hidden room and the church aren't connected.

Wasn't it supposed to be a burning coal mine? I do believe that officer Gucci says to Chris DaSilva that the coal mines were burning underground still, and I assumed that it was what caused the fire. A burning coal mine isn't unusual, as it's happened before. And, burning for decades doesn't seem unreal either considering you're talking about coal underneath.
Anyways, I thought it interesting that the humans were using canaries to predict when other world was coming, because miners have used them to predict coming danger in the mines.

oh, and reading the earlier posts, it looks like that it was in the hidden hotel room, reserved for cult members by the hotel owner(s). I don't think that neighboring building would've been a safe place for cult members to practice their rituals considering how easy it could be for someone to fall and die.

the burning of alessa CAUSED the coal mine to start burning.

Er, we see for ourselves in the movie that Alessa was burned on top of coals and that the thing holding her broke, fell, and knocked said coals over - which was what started that particular disaster.

Are you guys sure? It didn't look like it to me, it seemed like she stayed in that hospital sometime before the fire broke out. I just don't see how the hotel/factory/secret-room-whatever fire would've caused coal miles underground to catch on fire.

It could be interpreted as Alessa's self defense. To keep the cult from killing her, she frantically tried to save herself. Her (implied) "powers" broke the brazier stand, scattering the coal fire across the room, and setting the building on fire. It was her only way of keeping the cult from killing her.

Then Gucci saves her. It's more of Alessa's revenge, her demon that starts the coal fire under the town. Think of it like a back lash from the cult trying to kill her with fire. It wasn't the coal brazier that physically started the fire, but the event of burning Alessa that manifested as the coal fires beneath the town.

I wasn't suggesting that the coal fire started cos of Alessa, only that she was burnt on coals and that sort of destroyed the place - see how it was totally in ruins? Burned? Charred? That didn't just happen on accident...
