To whom does this belong?
After returning too the apartment while going through the building world
the first time I noticed a head floating by my window as if the laws of
gravity were being defied. At that moment I said,"What the f*ck?". But
if this head is floating past the window wouldn't the neighbors see it?
They seemed to be going on with their normal day/evening.
Neighbor Kid: Mommy, whats that thing floating in front of Mr. Townsends
window?
Neighbor Mom: Oh Johnny, it's just an annonymous floating decapitated
head. Don't worry about it.
But is the head annonymous? Looking closer I saw a striking resemblence
to that of MR. Andrew DeSalvo. Is that who the head belongs too?
Another thing. Is Henry still dreaming when this occures or is he
hallucinating this after all of the crazy shit he has seen since visiting
Walter's Dream World?

I'm not sure who the head belongs to.
The reason the neighbours cannot see it is because when Henry is locked in the room, there seems to be some sort of space/time void going on. They can't see him, so therefore they wouldn't be able to see what he sees (very badly explained, I know). This is the same reason no-one can hear him banging on the front door when they're standing right in front of it.

^ Read Icewater's post again. How to explain ANY of the phenomena that occurs in Henry's apartment? One, to scare the shit out of you, the gamer, and two, Henry's apartment is no stranger to crazy crap going on. Blood coming out of the washing machine/shower, hauntings, the inability to be seen and heard from the outside world. The apartment that Henry wakes up in is no longer the Real World's Room 302--it's the 302 of Walter's world, and all those creepy things are an attempt to infiltrate it.
I'm not dead yet, dammit.

Or rather, an outpost of Walters world and the highest ground of it.
See it like this... Henrys room is on top floor. Under that is the hospital which leads down to the bottom which is Josephs apartment. His and Henrys are connected, thus making the sprial down a loop. Complexity of the mind.

Yeah I'm playing the game again using a stradegy guide cuz I just want to get the other endings as quick as I can. But when guide started talking about the floating head, I never saw it. Do I have to do something or..what? what's the deal?

To see the head MM you must be in the middle of going through the building
world(first time) then return to room #302. Don't press the action button to look
out, just stand back and watch it happen. Pretty cool.
real/dream world topic The Adversary pretty much summed it up with
his post regarding Eileen's Reality.
The head though must belong to DeSalvo. Glazarus agrees.

I figured it was something along those lines. In reference to theThe reason the neighbours cannot see it is because when Henry is locked in the room, there seems to be some sort of space/time void going on. They can't see him, so therefore they wouldn't be able to see what he sees

'Floating Head' is a bit misleading. It's more properly a falling head, so you have to be really quick to see it. Personally I think its appearance is related to that of the Bunny Balloon. On my first play through the balloon was there most of the time and I never saw the head. The second time I saw the head at least three times, and the balloon only once.

I only remember the one head myself. Floating slowly down like it was a balloon.
It only happened once per game, as well, though I wouldn't be surprised if it happened more than once with the way hauntings repeat themselves.
It ALWAYS happened to me after I looked through the keyhole and saw "Better check on your neighbor".

That is actually wrong Necronoir. If you watch, the head floats'Floating Head' is a bit misleading. It's more properly a falling head
down then back up as if there is no gravity. If you agrue this
I know the Adversary(Being as he seems to know everything)
can back me up as well as many others.

I can back you up on that part though... I have seen it and it does float back up again. The head doesn't float so others can see it. It is still existing in the realm that Henrys apartment is in, the outpost of Walters world.

Since the floating head scene takes place right after Andrew's death, angela orosco's twin said:
? and how can you tell its Andrews head? it looks way to dark to tell.
and the fact that the head is balding and shaped like his lead's me to
assume this.(Though it is not official it is a common opinion.)
