I see it in the hair and face shape, but the facial features are out of whack.

James looks alot younger than Boromir. But if silent hill the movie was based on Sh2 and had Sean Be- Boromir as James I wouldnt have minded.

Wich leaves me to a question:

Wich actor could be perfect for James (or any other SH char)? post pictures please.

I think Josh Lucas (Poseidon) or Patrick Wilson (Hard Candy/Little Children) might be able to pull it off, even though their hair isn't quite right. Aaron Stanford (The Hills Have Eyes 2006) might also work.

EDIT: Upon further reflection, Aaron Eckhart would make the best James.

Nah, I don't think so, James has a very soft and calm look to him, while Harry has strong and defined features. But of course, we're comparing real to fake, which isn't always the best thing to do. I think if they really wanted to find a James looking guy, it could be pulled off nicely, I'd actually really like to see that :D

I found a very nice website with some very interesting lookalike images. I also found an image of christine aguilera dressed EXACTLY like Maria.

I think dennis Leary looks like James, a little more than Aaron Eckhart. No disrespect to Aaron, that sexy man.

Eh Aaron looks better than Denis. James is a nice looking man (fake...but yeah lol)...they would both work but I think I'd rather see Aaron. As for the other guys mentioned..I don't see any of them working. Mainly because James has a round face and Lucus and friends don't. But, I doubt they are looking for his "twin".

The only thing I don't like about Aaron, is that he almost always has that rough, "I- have-been-up-all-night-smoking-and-studing."
Denis has that polish look like"I-could-kill-you-if-I-wanted-to-but-I'll-leave-you-alone-for-now"
The only problem I would have is Denis' voice is deep, sexy, and pressing. Whereas Aaron has a smoother, softer voice that is ideal for James.

If only we could put those gorgeous men together,he would be perfect.

heh maybe a lil indeed, there is a cool scene when Chris(Sean B) "sighs" standing infront of school while Rose is passing him thru in otherworld and he speaks her name...that reminded me of James "sighing" a lot. Complete SH2 feeling that "aaah Mary" thing

I'm not sure about Aaron, but after seeing Vanilla Sky, I think that Cameron Diaz looks almost EXACTLY like Maria, at least in that movie. I think that she could play that type of character very well, and she was considered for a role in the first movie (although I'm very glad she wasn't Cybil!), so perhaps we'll be seeing her in Silent Hill sometime.

Agreed. Aaron Eckhart is THE perfect James Sunderland. Should have used him in the movie instead of Sean Bean.

Dennis Leary? Seriously?

I can just see James walking along killing Mannequins with the wooden plank singing "I'm An Asshole".

I think Nathan Fillion a bit, if his hair is just right.

I think you guys are too focused on physical similarity rather than finding someone who could really nail the 'feel' of James as a character. I admit that Sean Bean doesn't have the greatest physical similarity, but when I think of how he played Chris in the movie the feeling is almost disturbingly right. Bean really imbibed the character with that mix of single-mindedness and barely concealed selfishness which lies at the heart of James Sunderland, and as a result it almost makes him seem more physically fitting in the role too. I'd love to see the sequel pick up with Chris as the main character looking for Rose, and virtually enact the Silent Hill 2 storyline exactly as it is with those two alterations. If anything the pursuit of his wife over his adopted daughter would take the selfishness already inherent in James to a whole other level. If done properly they could even substitute Sharon/Alessa into Laura's place, especially if they pushed the 'Sharon has become the Reaper' suggestion from the first movie.

This is true.

But I still reckon Nathan Fillion could pull it off in the acting ability stakes as well. He can do dark, just look at something like Caleb in Buffy.

Sean Bean in a James like role would rock in seven different ways but if they wanted someone who was maybe a bit younger then Nathan Fillion would be very good.
