What exactly do they do? I just realized I've played the game numerous times and I've never used 1 silver bullet. I always "save them for later" but never end up using them. Do they permanetly kill the ghost or just stun them with one shot?

You can find one silver bullet in the Subway World (1st time), and one in Forest World (2nd time). When loaded into your pistol, it can be fired at ghost and tmeporarily disable them. Since there's only two throughout the game, meaning they're rare, you should only use it for "emergencies." There are certain ghosts that might be a good idea to hold them down for awhile with a sword of obedience. If you have trouble getting the sword in them, yuo can use a bullet. But always remember that there's only 2. Also, unlike the sword, you can't take the bullet back out.

You should preferably use them on Richard (because you´re with Eileen at your ass), or Andrew deSlavo. Jasper is avoidable and Cynthia is easy if you use some candles.

You'll actually find the Silver Bullet in the subway on your second visit, not the first.

I've never used them, though I always mean to. . . :P

:grins: I don't play on hard. I'm not a "serious" gamer, I guess. ^_^- A good story has always been hook enough for me. I don't need lots of extra weapons and things if I can get that.

BTW:  There's only two?! O.O OH SNAP! I already used one and I'm not to the Water Prison Round 2 yet! SONUVASEABUSCUIT! I thought there was one in each world... cuz like... I picked them up in both Forest and Subway Worlds round 2... or maybe I didn't and I just think I remember that... Where did I get that other bullet... anyway... I hope Richard isn't too bad, cuz I heard Andrew kicks butt and I need the bullet for him...

Richard can teleport and has a lead pipe. And he follows you throughout the entiiiiiire level.

So uh, son of a biscuit, yes he is bad. You best be savin' that other bullet.

Nooo compared to Richard Cynthia is nothing. I personally think Richard is the best looking and most challenging of the ghosts. Ass in death as he appeared to be in life. :?

Really? I always heard Andrew was the one to look out for... something about really hard to aim/hit with some sort of attack that stuns you or knocks you down or some crap.

Huh... yeah... I never did like ole Braintree...

They're both equally difficult, but in different ways: Andrew's definitely easier if you have a silver bullet, but Richard's annoying because he teleports. So he can be in front of you for one instant, than behind you, then to your right, then approaching rapidly from somewhere else. Like I said.. reaaally annoying.
