Seal of Metatron in SH2 (Spoilers)
During the last Pyramid Head battle, the Seal looks burnt into the carpet on which you fight. Several of them.
Am I just seeing things? The seals aren't exactly bold, they're weathered with time and faded.
Wonder what kind of meaning, if any, these might have being in a place like that.

Personally, I think it's just a homage to the first game. It's there because the Lakeview Hotel resides in northern Silent Hill, where the first game took place and faded because it's been some time since then. It's there to remind you that James is on the "otherside."
Some people will tell you otherwise. Tying its existence to Pyramid Head seems a pretty popular idea.

I belive it appears because of a connection, with James and to the being behind the PH helmet. I dident say it's name. The angel the prison executioners based their outfit's on.
Time is a skill, thats why you have to make the best moments last. Allow me to start by kicking you in the throat while masterbating to the sound of your own extinction.

Besides, the word 'angel' doesn't apply just to positive forces.

I guess it depends on which sect of The Order you come from. He's like Jesus...if your from his sect (like Christianity), you think he's god...but if you're not (Judeaism/Islam)...you believe he's a major part, but not exactly god.

^ Huh?
Well.. the -iel at the end kind of makes Valtiel seem like an angel, eh? And I'm not pulling that out of nowhere, I think it was mentioned in "Translated Memories" or something..
Did the executioners base their wardrobe on anything? I know they had bag-like things on their heads and bodies, but I don't know if they based it off of anything.
I think Burning Man's idea is interesting, and a nice explanation for it. I've always wondered why it's there, too. I'm not too sure about the Valtiel thing though.

I like to think that they mean that (just like Midwich school, Alchemilla hospital, the lighthouse and other places) Alessa sealed up the hotel into the darkness before...

It could be a symbolic refference to James mental state deteriorating adn by teh time this battle occurs he's so far gone that teh seals are even diminished.

I have a theory, a bad one, but wtf...
-In SH1 when the Mark of samael is "completed", Valitel appears (I guess ) maybe this two marks are like some spell like the SH1 one...
