I think it will work much like Henry's phone in his room with a few added features!

The r.p.t.'s appearance in Silent Hill: Homecoming was entirely arbitrary and solely fan-service.

I've been lurking this topic for a while, but it's gotten negative enough I need to say something. For those who bother to read the interview intro, Tomm Hulett works for Konami - not Climax.

So this interview isn't one developer bashing another, it's Konami, and the man in charge of the new Silent Hill, giving is the straight word on mistakes that have been made and where the series is headed. Gamers rarely get such a thing, and all Silent Hill fans can do is complain about it?

Are Silent Hill fans like me, who actually get excited about the series, really in the minority?

And what a marvelous first post, my friend; I completely agree 100%. SH can attract some very pessimistic people into it's fanbase and that can be very taxing to the ones that actually want to see the series advance. Just try to ignore the negativity. I'm wishing Hulett as much luck as he can possibly get with this series and it's 'hardcore' fans.

good question. I begun to look on the future of franchise with a dose of a pity lately, I remember getting mighty excited on both Origins and Homecoming as they were comin. These games failed me. Origins well, y'know, Homecoming overwhelming movie inspirationins like if that was some kind of reliable source not to mention other stuff. Now I simply feel a pity, is it really my fault, bitchin all the time, or is it someone else fault? If the games were fucking good, matching the canon, then I would STFU but I can't cuz I care

I'm not bothered with this game as long as they keep making games in the established canon. I don't want this to be a reboot and then sequels going on from there. If a one shot remake is all this is, then I'm completely fine with the experimenting this team is doing and am interested in how it turns out. I wasn't at first, but I realized this series needs to evolve a bit more than it did with the last two games. And who knows, if its excellent I might even come around on the sequel thing. I still want to see a straightforward remake someday though.

I figure the reason they are doing a alternate reality kinda thing is so they can experiment with ideas without fucking with the main series. If their ideas work they will implement it into future main games. If they don't work then it doesn't matter cause its a alternate reality.
