I suggest that you give it a chance. Besides how can you know? Have you played it?
I never said anything about
not giving it a chance.
I certainly will, as all things deserve as such before fully judging. This is just how I'm thinking currently. My thoughts may change as I play the game- I may love it. It's just that I've played other games where you have to run from enemies instead of fight them (Clock Tower for example), so I'm thinking this may be similar in a way.
First off, the rusted hell thing was only in the first game, Origins, and Homecoming. The flesh thing was completely different and everyone's favorite (SH2) had a run down water Otherworld. So it's not like this is the first game to do something different.
That's true, they are different. I just kind of bunched them together, lol. It's just that feel that is the same, for me. Of course, I can't expect everyone to feel the same way I do- that would be silly. And, that's a good point you make about SH2. I just think this frozen thing doesn't look as creepy at all.
... I've played the other games many times (minus SH5 which I just played), and it's not like I'm saying it's the end of the world. I just thought it looked kind of boring. Respectful of your view as I am- the frozen land doesn't impress me from first look.
In other words, yes you are expected to actually try to SURVIVE the HORROR as opposed to bash it's head in. Being defenseless might actually make Silent Hill scary again. I have no complaints about that. In direct contrast to your opinions, I'm thinking this is going to be the first time in awhile where monster encounters were not annoying and boring, since that is what they were in SH4, Origins, and Homecoming.
I thought it made perfect sense to bash a monsters head in to survive. Especially with normal things that you can find off the street. (A steel pipe, a wooden plank, etc) It doesn't make sense to me to
only run and hide with no combat at all. Wouldn't it be more realistic to fight back once in awhile? I'd think any person in a desperate situation such as this, would look for something to defend themselves with even if it's for 'just in case'. Though, I have to say that these monsters look really vicious like SHH's monsters. In which case, the best option is to run. xD
Oh, and Cybil's apperance changes depending on how you answered the questions in the beginning. We have seen 3 different ways she can look. So if you don't like the one shown here, go for one of the other two.
Oh, really? I'll have to look into that. Thanks.
