Glass...
I've never heard the glass break in the Historical Society, ever...no matter how many times I've played. Is it one of those random things like the hotel sobbing? Cuz I don't recall ever hearing that either.

At first I thought it was a random scare thingy but as I played the game more I thought to myself "This gotta have some meaning to it". So I started reading some theorys and I found a topic named "The True Ending of Silent Hill 2" by: the Adversary.
This post is long, but it's an interesting theory and the breaking of the glass is brought up.
I'd better mark this as a spoiler.
Edit: On the other hand, I've never heard the sobbing

The glass that is heard breaking is actually Ernest Baldwin stealing an artifact from the Historical Society. If you read the entire post you'll get the whole picture.

And I think you were referring to SH1 with the sound of repeated glass-breaking in the otherworld director's room in Alchemilla.Krist. wrote:Well, shit. Guess I haven't triggered it either..

In room C2 of Brookhaven Hospital, there is the sound of glass shattering. In the display room of the Silent Hill Historical Society, there is the sound of glass shattering.
Room C2. Historical Society. Right-click & save-as.
Both statements are true.
The glass shattering in room C2 of Brookhaven always plays. The glass shattering in the Historical Society will randomly play.

The historical society sound bite brings up a dead link. Which version of C2 is it in? Cuz I don't remember hearing it ever. Although I tend not to go in that room during the day.

The sound in the Historical Society isn't really glass shattering, more so a case or door being opened.
>I thought I heard somewhere that the glass shattering is mary breaking a vase or something.
It's an idea for my belief that Mary stayed at Brookhaven Hospital. We're not talking about the noise in Brookhaven, though
>Which version of C2 is it in?
The [otherside].

If I remember correctly, there's a glass shattering room in the hospital in every Silent Hill game, although the ones in SH1 and SH4 were the most obvious.NightFlutter wrote:And I think you were referring to SH1 with the sound of repeated glass-breaking in the otherworld director's room in Alchemilla.Krist. wrote:Well, shit. I think I remember a glass shattering sound somewhere in that hospital. Or at least somewhere in SH4, but the hospital keeps coming to mind.the Adversary wrote:There... isn't a crashing sound in St. Jerome's. Or Brookhaven Hospital in Silent Hill 3.
