No offense taken, it was more me taking a shot at Konami's quality control, or lack thereof.

okieLet's talk about the last update of his weblog.
he said that he wanted to make something new statue but he was kinda busy and he doesn't know what he can release.

and also, for Winter fes, he didn't have a time to make a new statue of silent hill series. he said sorry to viewers who expected for him to make something.

so this winter fes, he will show his Cobra (don't know the spell) series and the other one(ガラパゴスゾウガメ) which he is making right now. and he will sell only 5 statues of these.

This helps clear up the confusion with WonderFest/copyright info. So it seems that Konami didn't have any interference?
I figured this was most likely the case, that he just didn't want to make any more or that he couldn't because of his own personal reasons. As I had mentioned before, the Japanese word that he used and was translated into english that we interpret as the term "copyright", may have an entirely different meaning altogether within the context of this particular writing of his.

You're all so quick to jump on Konami for supposedly doing something, but not ONCE is the word Konami used throughout his blog!
Vixx wrote:But if you read Headlong's blog, he mentions being approached by Konami at the end of June. So whilst there's a symbol that might not mean it's anything to do with Konami, the blog posts suggest that it really is. :p
Konami not mentioned at all in the entire blog. :P

Listen, I've spoken to someone in this line of work, the resin kit and figure model biz, about this exact topic. Based on what they've told me, I have it on good knowledge that a big-time company like Konami would not really do much, if anything at all, to stop or hinder smaller independent artists like Headlong or those like him.

So I don't believe it's something to be too concerned about...............really.

True dat. I've heard so many stories of companies putting haults on small, indepent pieces of art based on their IPs so it's something I naturally suspect first.

-----------

Another cool person was kind enough to help out and translate/summarize the entries even more:

The first one you linked to says that he had submitted a request to have
the Pyramid Head guy at Wonder Fest, but he was turned down for reasons
unknown. He suspects that it was because the new Silent Hill game was
coming out right around the same time so it might've seemed like was
taking advantage of that. But he doesn't really know why he was turned down.

The second post says that he basically had nothing new for the Wonder
Fest because he didn't have enough time to whip anything up at the last
second. He then apologizes to the people who were looking forward to it.

Basically, he doesn't really go into detail about anything, and I can't
tell if he's even selling them as it is. I'm not really sure how these
conventions work in Japan, so I'm not sure if he only has one of these
things each or if he's got them in mass production or what. Anyway,
right now it looks like things are in limbo for him.

I know that's not very good news, but hopefully that helped clear up any
questions.

I'm now wishing I bought that headlong figure when I had the chance... oh well at least it went to someone as awesome as Vixx :) I really wish Konami would put out some offical figures. I would really like some of the human characters!

Jesus, those are fucking amazing. That's really just resin? And the paint jobs... *whistles*

Damn shame about him being stopped. I'd have paid dearly for that Valtiel... he doesn't get much love.

Hi Vixx,

I just remembered this thread for some reason. Did your painted statue arrive back to you safely? If so, would you spare some time to take some pics of it? I remember the photos taken by your painter were fairly dark and didn't show off all the paint details of the sculpt.

Yes it did - and I totally forgot to post photos! I went to take some but my camera's battery is dead; give me an hour or so to charge it and I'll be right back. :D

Edit: and here they are!
