Silent Hill 1 - 3 Bosses

Heather finds out why it's true that you shouldn't talk to strangers. Or look in mirrors, quite honestly.

Silent Hill 1 - 3 Bosses

Post by AgentX7k »

I noticed that there was a close similarity between the bosses and the order you fight them in.

1. Split Worm / Giant Lizard
2. Missionary / Gigantic Larva
3. Leonard Wolf / Moth
4. The Memory Of Alessa / Cybil
5. The God / Samael

1. Long grey body, mouth opens the same way and is vulnerable when it does. Takes place at the end of the first area (school/mall) and is the catalyst for turning ‘nightmare’ to ‘normal’ world. And Alessa is the first thing we see after that happens

The order is off with the next two, but only slightly:

2. Missionary / Moth – Both take place on a rooftop
3. Leonard / Larva – Take place underground, on the bottom level of an area. The fight is the same, the monster moves under a surface where it can’t be shot (sand/water) and pops up to attack.

4. Both take place on the exact same carrousel. Both are in the form of humans, just evil versions of that person. Both use a handgun, move and shoot the same way.
5. Both are the same god, totally different appearance but the fight is similar. One brings down lightning, the other brings down fire.

Anyway, thanks for reading

Nice

Also
5. God and Samael-(Incubus) both dont have a stomach, they just have a backbone.

I suppose it ties in with the wheel of fate theme. Heather is tracing the steps of her father the last time someone tried to ressurect the god. Great work Agent!
Douglas: Where are you going?
Heather: I’m taking the subway home.
Douglas: What should I do?
Heather: Hell if I know.

I'm sure this was intended.

Also note that Heather is haunted by new and improved versions of some of SH1's enemies: The dogs, the nurses, and the sewer monsters (now the annoying little guys who crawl on the floor).

Me too, I mean there is alot of mirroring between the two.

You've got the same antagonist, Dahlia/Claudia - Crazy memer of the cult determined to birth their God through Alessa

And a similar lacky, Kauffman/Vincent - Man who helps the villain but does not want God to be born the way she does

The Start - Protagonist having a dream about dying then waking up in a cafe/resturant

The End - you need to collect 5 items to open the same door which leads down some stairs to the final confronation between you and the two villains

There are probably hundred more...

They also both end with underwhelming endings.

Both with an official person on the side of the protagonist:

Cybil is a cop with Harry
Douglas is a Private Investigator with Heather.

You said that Douglas is a private investigator, so he's not an official like Cybil. But I see the relationship though.

Yeah, it is.

SH1: The bodies dressed like Valtiel.
SH2: Pyramid Head, dressed like Valtiel.
SH3: Valtiel himself.
SH4: While not an actual appearance per se (Valtiel himself only shows up in 3, and his outfit is mimicked in 1 and 2), Walter's power comes from Valtiel, so in a sense Walter himself is an appearance of Valtiel.

Well, If I remember correctly Valtiel was designed before Phead was. All the creature designer did was Slap a helmet on him and called him something else.
