It was hell to screencap it screen by screen and then to put everything together and to clean everything...
Anyway, here is the map:
Image
It is 9,3Mb PNG in 3000х2215 resolution.

I also have 41,5Mb PNG in 7677х5667 if someone's interesting :).

doesn't look at all like old Silent Hill :(
But at least we see a large portion of Silent Hill once again.

But now that I think about it, wouldn't it be much, much easier to just rip the game's textures? Most Wii games feature files in the same format, especially if they were coded with the main Wii Dev Kit. If yet the texture ripping turns out to be impratical, there is also the possibility of texture dumping, by running the game on Dolphin, putting the map on the screen and using the texture dumping option of the emulator (or by using 3DRipper) to dump the current textures loaded into the VRAM. It would save us from the trouble of lookig for filenames in order to find the texture files for the map, since I assume the city map uses multiple 512x512 textures.

Travis is virgin.
Alex's a uninteresting character.

The bushes in the original SMB are also the clouds.

Interesting. It looks more like a compact town rather than the sparse maps we are used to. However, I notice a lot of street names are missing and are different, for example, Koontz Street where Alchemilla is located is now called Wolfe Street...a reference to Claudia perhaps?

Can't wait for this game to hit the UK stores in february!

It's probably not a map of the full town; we've never gotten a map of the full town in any one game, why would this be any different?

Not to mention that I'm pretty sure the area to the south-east of the map where Indian Runner etc. were doesn't just exist in its own weird little isolated spot.

Speaking of maps... it really irked me that Harry wouldn't mark the map on his own. I tried to do it for a while, but I quite because I realized you never really need to map unless you want to see which direction you're headed... (mosly in the forest level).

I wish there was an option for Auto-mapping. Would make things a little easier, even if there was slightly less puzzle solving than in other games.

I didn't like how if you mark the map yourself, the marks just disappear eventually. Ah well.

You don't need to mark the map cause the game is too linear, you never have to backtrack or remember what doors are broken and what doors are accesible... The other uses of the map marks was to remind you the specific room where a puzzle is when you are looking for clues, items or info for solve it or to remind you where are the save points... Since the puzzle solution is always in its same location and the save feature always travels with you the map marks are unnecesary...

The only time it really came in handy for me was navigating my path back to the door in the High School photo quest.... Also, slightly in the mall because I memorized which direction I had to go to get to the roof.

There are direct parallels though.
