In the catacombs in Silent Hill 2, underneath the prison, why is there a tomb stone for Walter Sullivan? I didn't find a topic on this. Is there significance to this?
Walter's grave in the catacombs is to suggest Walter had to undergo the same "trial" w/in the abyss as James, Angela and Eddie, though of course for killing the Locane children.

Indeed. Like James, Angela, and Eddie, Walter felt, on some level, guilt over his actions, and so the Otherworld put him through a harrowing, hellish trial through his own subconscious mind.

^ I'd like to see that included in a future game, maybe.
Nah, that'd probably be a bad idea. People keep bitching that the newer games have easy twists to guess, and...well...we KNOW Walter's story. Even if you give him amnesia or cover up his name or something, we can recognize him at a glance, and we know exactly why he's there and what he did. It'd be boring.

I always assumed the Walter had a tomb because he was also affected by supernatural forces (The Red Devil) and because he also had taken a (psychological) journey to complete the Ritual.
^No, the Red Devil was Jimmy Stone. The head of the Valtiel sect and Walter's first victim. Have you played Silent Hill 4? If not, I can understand why you thought that him was another "being".
