Post by Whitney »

How cool is this! Joe Romersa filmed and put this a two part documentary together of some behind the scenes footage of their recording sessions for the SH:SM soundtrack!

It's good to know that I'm not alone!
I watched yesterday and loved it! Joe should do it always! Mary dancing and Joe trying to enter "in the show biz" through the front door was hilarious!

Wow, this is fuckin' cool. I especially like the second part where there's more Mary's voice and they leave at night. Even it's just a typical work day for them you can feel that SH atmosphere when she starts singin'. She really does have an excellent voice.
"I don't know my name. I don't know if I can make it
I don't feel the same
My brain is dead and I cannot wake it
I don't wanna run. I don't have a place to run to
I don't see the sun
I don't understand what I must do"

Awesome. I always wondered how much of Mary's vocals were the product of computer trickery or if she was legitimately an awesome singer, and now I feel pretty confident in saying she's legitimately an awesome singer.

She really has a lot of power when she belts it out at full voice.
"Oh yeah, I've been here before
I can see it with eyes closed
Shadows that look like blood
Dead as far as the mind goes
Fear that comes from my head
Lives in the mirror"

Acceptance sounds even better with the drum beats!

But I also noticed that her voice couldn't reach some high notes, and she cracked and messed up the lyrics some times :(

A singer can't always hit the high notes. Everyone screws up sometimes. The parts where she nails the note far outweigh the pitchy moments.

I just saw this posted on a fan site. Its pretty cool to finally see the process for the music we have loved forever.

Mary is kind of a retard. In a good way of course. Joe is kind of creepy.

It's a great set videos. Good to see them having such fun with the music... And the cracking, and mistakes are normal. That's what post production is for.
