I was wondering....

Post by MistahJ »

Other than the places you HAVE to visit in the game, are there any other places you can visit on your first try or when you beat the game? The reason I'm asking is because I've noticed that there are quite a few shops and etc. that you can try to get into.

Sorry if this has been brought up before.

I think other than getting the rifle, no.

Yeah, go for the rifle in Dargento Cemetary, but you'll probably have to use the internet to know what to do. Also, there'll be a circular saw in your garage if you beat the game, and similarly there'' be a laser pistol if you get the UFO ending.

What about that tackle/bait shop with the image of the fish on the window. I found it kind of weird that it's one of the only doors that you can try to open, and it says it's locked. Can you ever get a key to go in there?

There aren't any hidden areas in Homecoming that you can get into.

Oh yeah... You can't ENTER the shop, but you can duck underneath the sheet metal on the side for a convenient save station.

The rife itself is in Dargento Cemetery. However, you can't get it until you've been to the office adjacent to the power station, and back track to it.

... or just take one off a dead Order soldier....

Just kidding, for some reason Alex doesn't find that method to be "effecient" enough.

To get the Rifle from the Cemetery is a pain in the ass. All the backtracking I mean. Plus, it's not very good. The Police Marksman Rifle is better.

But if you want an achievment/trophy then go for it.

All you have to do is grab all the gemstones that you find trough Silent Hill and use it in the statue of that greek God. I forgot his name. . .

Yeah Dargento Cemetary in Silent Hill is pretty much the only optional place you can visit. I purposely skipped it my first time through because I wanted to increase my replayability the second time, but really there's noting that special about it other than some spooky noises you hear while exploring it. The rifle is pretty much crap and, as already mentioned, a pain to get. Unless you're really terrible you don't really need it anyway.

The only good part about the rifle is piercing. I used it to kill a couple of Siams in the church. You know the ones if you've been there.

As far as I can remember, if you stack enemies with the Rifle, the bullets piece them and hit more than one successively. Noticed it on both Schisms and Siams.
