Silent hill for PC

Post by Shaani »

Hey guys just saw the trailer for the new silent hill pretty good...But im just wondering if we want it on PC because i did not played homecoming personally but I heard that it it had bugs and glitches on the PC version so my question is do we really want this one on PC??My opinion is that they should bring it on PC as I played most of silent hills on my PC but without any bugs or glitches and decent controls...Thanks

Hi,

The news of Silent Hill 8 was so unexpected i was generally browsing, found the trailer and immediately thought, please be on P.c!!! I've played through SHHC on p.c with the patch and a trainer to pass bugs but i really do feel if they release it on p.c, they won't make the same mistakes.

You can play Origins with emulator. You can run it with PCSX2(if you have U region disc). They have compatibility for K region disc, but only in-game. In other word, with no cinemas and cut-scenes.

Hi, thanks i will check it out. I use ePSXe emu but after failing to get Res Evil Code Veronica X running properly on PCSX2 i didn't think to try Origins. I'll look into it. Thanks!

(and yeah if my games skip cut scenes i watch them on utube :D)

Personally I believe it will be on PC as well because Konami tends not to bring on computers only their past-gen consoles SH titles (Wii included), but next gen SHH (which was announced to be a PlayStation 3 and X360 game at first) end up on PC pretty fast.
Also there was already a rumor about next Silent Hill PC version even before E3.

That's an old info. "Origins" can be played with sound, cinemas and cut-scenes on PC nowadays. The only problem is a flashlight glitch in the hardware mode. You can play it in software but that means no HD and some slowdowns here and there.

It'll likely hit the PC, especially since it's being built on Unreal Engine 3. Konami tends to release its bigger multiplatform titles on PC, they just don't advertise it as much. Homecoming wasn't confirmed for the PC at its announcement either if I remember, but eventually it was and came out a few months after the console release. I'm not sure what the deal was with 2, 3, and 4, but they all found their way to it as well.

I just hope it comes out. If I didn't live in a 3rd world country I'd gladly get a PS3 but I just don't have what they're asking for over here (roughly 2000$) and there's also the games (135$) so PC and Steam are a great thing for me.

I'm not expecting Konami to decide to publish on pc, but I would love it if they did.

They have shown a complete disinterest in releasing their older games, despite an ever increasing interest in the market because of Steam, GOG, D2D, and so forth. Plus, the terrible handling of homecoming lead to a rather bitter backlash and I suspect sales suffered. Not to mention their unflinching price tag. Seriously? You're still charging full price on it? Konami, have you not seen the success that games benefit from with sales on Steam?

Konami needs to get on the ball or they're going to be left in the dust on pc market. Assuming it's not too late as is.

No news on it, and don't expect to hear anything either. At least, not in the immediate future at all.

Downpour on the PC would be a no-brainer. It could be the definitive version that fixes all the bugs and gives us a smoother playing experience.

You mean like how the PC version of Homecoming was the definitive version that had no bugs?

^ lol

yeah

Homecoming was so buggy I had to use a trainer to get thru it. My health kept getting drained by invisible bugs that couldn't be killed. wtf? That's a pretty buggy game. It sucks Downpour hasn't made it to PC. I may never play this game.
