Silent Hill Heaven

So, I was at the gumball puzzle, and brought up my phone to delete some pictures in order to have room to take one of the toucan, when a prompt popped up and told me my data had been corrupted, and that I had to delete something, then the game froze, and I had to reset it, and now everything is gone.

So, I'm trying to playthrough it again, but I need everything to be exactly the same, because the game was responding to me being me, and not me being angry and impatient because it decided deleting that many hours of gameplay was not a big deal.

Well, it is a big deal.

My first problem is that I can't get into the bar, and when I meet Cybil in the bar, she doesn't look the same. My answers to the form were all true, I spent alot of time looking around at the environment because I thought I would find an item or something, Harry responded to the beer, photo, and girlie calender when I looked at them the first time, and I went into Theresa's shop instead of the camera store.

I've done all of this exactly the same three times now, and I still get red-headed Cybil in the diner. So What am I doing wrong here? I've still got to make sure that I get all the same mementos, echos, and pictures, and that all the other characters look the same and have the same personalities, and that a huge, gutted grizzly bear is in the main room of the Orion Lodge, and keep all my psyche profile answers the same, and I can't even get into the bar!

Anyone know how I can make this work?

EDIT: I've know just realized that not only do the raw shocks, character appearances, personalities, etc. change, but so do the messages you get from echos. The upside is i've managed to get to the Orion Lodge with all the dialogue, characters, and environments being the same, so things are mostly going good.

So, if anyone has figured out how which echo message you get is determined, that might be what I need to know most.

Er, do you mean the diner? You never meet Cybil in the bar. In my experience, it seems like if you go through the clothing store you get the bar, and if you go through the camera store you get the diner.

well, I found out you get to the bar depending on which jacket you open to find the key. The wierd part is I know which jacket I opened the first time, but it kept sending me to the diner with red-head cybil. The first time, I picked the jean jacket, and went into the irish-themed bar, got the "hallejulah, i knew i would get a customer" dialogue, and cybil showed up in her sunglasses and low cut cop outfit.

but then, to get there I had to pick a different jacket, and my first echo voicemail was different. So, I don't understand why that's different, because most of the time my echo messages end up the same.

My big problem now is that Dahlia keeps looking different. The first time through I got punk Dahlia, and I took my time and went through exactly the same way, but when I got the text message from her at the gym door, it was some other dumb thing. So, I watched a bunch of videos on youtube and did exactly what they did, and I keep getting one of the other two Dahlia's. Not only that, but it happens almost randomly.

Is there some special thing I need to do in order to get punk Dahlia? Or pink prom dress Michelle for that matter? I'm fine with ignoring the echo messages if these two things can fall into place.

Interesting. I've never had anything different with the jackets...

From what I remember of playing through, getting punk Dahlia... well, I went through the clothing store but got the bar, and I answered no to drinking and sex but yes to friendly questions. I also got pink prom Michelle. I'm not sure if that'll help since there's so many variables at work, but I also got most of the echoes on the way there.

I remember I answered true to all of the questions at the beggining, so I don't need to change those.

Thanks for at least trying to help. If that was easy to get, I wouldn't be posting these questions on this forum.

It's weird, because in three of my four playthroughs (one by myself, two others with friends), I've managed to get mostly the same thing. I wonder why yours seem to be changing so much.

I haven't been here in long enough for me not to remember this forum's policy about older topics. But most forums I've been to tend to stress searching the older topics to see if your idea was already brought up rather than start a new one every few months.

I hate to be one of those "just let the mods handle it, I can't be bothered to think," people, and this seems like the most sensible option.

So after hearing about the new SH (by the way, SH8? I'm fine with counting origins as 5 and all, but even then there are only 6 main games, one of which is a remake/revision/side story, and then the arcade and homecoming would make it 9, so I don't follow.) I've decided enough time has passed for there to be new information about SHSM, meaning I may be able to FINALLY get the same Dahlia.

The bad news is it's been 6 months since I've been trying to get Punk Dahlia, and no new information has emerged on the subject. Now, I know for a fact that getting each one of the endings is something that a large portion of SH fans attempt to do, if not all of them. I can find this information. And it is completely natural to assume that other variations in the game are equally sought after. I am wrong somehow? Because all I can find are simply lists of the different variations, not how to get them.

Okay, truth time: I CAN find guides for this, in fact I have found every single one of them. Problem is, not only is every one of these guides dead wrong, but they all contradict each other.

And this is the really heartbreaking part: this is the reason I was so psyched about the game in the first place. I really wanted SH to become more personal and reflect the players actions in this manner. So when the system actively works against me so much as to make the game virtually unplayable, it ruins what might have otherwise been my third or even second favorite of the lot (I'm a HUGE fan of SH0).

So I'm bumping this thread to ask what this community of hardcore SH fans that used the day and date on a calender to plan out the whole timeline how to get Punk Dahlia. But not just that. I wan't to know what has been uncovered about how to alter anything: how to get the bar or diner, how to get each character's appearance, how to get the echo messages, anything except the ending. From what I have read, the endings just work like this Dahlia + that Cybil + gutted Bear = this ending. So not only would the information be redundant in a thread with this subject, I'm not trying to get an ending, I just want to know how the game works.

One last note on how sensitive the game is: I can only assume that the game counts seconds. I have followed the exact same set of actions over and over again and still completely randomly ended up with either of the Dahlias that aren't the punk one. There is no other explanation for this I can imagine other than it counts how long I take to do certain things. If i'm off by a second, I get a different Dahlia.

Okay, this is the last thing: I'm also interested in how the monsters change, I want anything that is known to affect the appearances here, BUT I have never had a problem getting the same monsters. For whatever reason, the Raw Shocks not only stay the same for more broad personalities, but they completely make sense to me. Of course I get the really feminine looking monsters, what else was gonna happen? I still don't know why they change, but at least they are more accurate.
