What up with the flying mannequins?
I was walking down the North West side of Nathan Ave after getting past the Blue Creek Apartments and I noticed something really strange. I was running and I saw mannequins flying over the fence and into the street. I was like, "WHAT THE HELL"!!??!?!?!?!?
Seriously, what up?
Seriously, what up?
Re: What up with the flying mannequins?
It's probably like that for the very sake of getting that reaction.
It happens to all of us, so don't worry about it.

Re: What up with the flying mannequins?
The first time that happened to me I was like WHAT but then every time after that I laughed hysterically and almost got killed. That's one thing to debate about whether they should've changed that. I wonder if that was unintentional? Maybe it's just for the sake of getting a reaction, but usually things like that only happen once or twice. I remember playing the game and having like, 5 of 'em thrown out at me.

Probably by trying the bowling alley door when you first saw it, instead of walking past it to pick up the directions to the bowling alley at the end of Nathan Avenue.

It's been a while, but that actually sounds about right.

Re: What up with the flying mannequins?
Hmmm...i've never seen that...it sounds like some type of glitch...
Re: What up with the flying mannequins?
It happens if you try to head to the Historical Society with Maria. I got about seven jumping out at me, but I had a nice chainsaw waiting for them. The first time it happened, I nearly chainsawed Maria. It still can make me jump a little bit, but that's because even though I know it'll happen, because of the fog, you can near see where they are until they are jumping, which is a bit of a shock.
Re: What up with the flying mannequins?
no, it's not a glitch. they just sail onto the street out of nowhere. pretty funny if you're expecting it, but startling if not.
no longer active. thanks for the memories.
Re: What up with the flying mannequins?
Oh ok...i remember now....yeah they kinda just float out onto the street.....if you're running with maria they kinda just float out (because you're kinda rushing the game to place them there), but if you're walking, the game kinda has time to place them there then they kinda startle you when you see them come through the fog.

Re: What up with the flying mannequins?
The best flying mannequin is the one that is perched on the side of a building and falls flat in the street. I've only seen it a small handful of times, but it always makes me laugh. All the launching mannequins make me giggle, especially if you can spot them out in the bush before they can catapult out at you.

I thought that was a glitch! I don't know which is scarier. It's like that game (whose name I'm completely blanking on) where it suddenly "changes the input" on you TV, though it turns out to be part of the game: either way, that shit is messed up.

I thought it was a glitch too.
It's such a weird, bizarre, random thing to happen even for SH2.
The way they fly onto the street is laughable even.

Re: What up with the flying mannequins?
One late night I was watching a friend that I had talked into playing SH2 play through. She came up to the bowling alley doors and during the cutscene I noticed mannequin legs sticking out of the sign above the door. They were just sticking out and slowly moving and kicking. Anyways, it tripped me out. I have not yet witnessed the instance that is mentioned above. I will have to check that out someday when I get a chance.

I didn't think you could go up Nathan Avenue without seeing the launching mannequins (since I've seen them every time, I believe). Do they come out more slowly if you're walking instead of running?
I remember that one on the building, Harrys_Girl. Pretty funny.

Re: What up with the flying mannequins?
For some reason I always imagined Pyramid Head throwing the mannequins out from the woods.. Retarded idea I guess.
I never thought it was a glitch though, always figured it was intentional.
And in the Maria scenario in the director's cut, there's a lying figure doing the weird crawling thing on a rooftop somewhere, that REALLY surprised me.

It was a lame location for a mannequin IMO. I shot at it a few times and then just carried on.
