I'm pretty damn content and happy now! I can't think of any other imporant SH items. Feels good to say that, too!

My you-know-what secret site is coming up next though, whenever I can get enough uninterrupted free time to work on it which is rare.
Anders wrote:But ugh... you can't show that letter around. It is plain and simple embarrassing. :D
Haha, believe me, I know how corny and bad it reads, but nowadays I find that to be part of its charm. But I got to have humility and be humble to my "roots," so to speak, so I can't make myself get rid of that page.

But why didn't you go for the SH2 DVD yourself? I mean, it's SH2. Your game.

Glad you didn't, though! :)

I was so excited and grateful I got the poster, and my extra cash was put towards bidding on it, I wanted to do you a solid and give you the heads up since you're a friend and have helped me out plenty of times with previous SH stuff. :)

Okay, I lied, there is something else:
If someone can find a copy (digital or otherwise) of the Spring TGS 2001 SH2 Trial for me to play around in that'd be the be-all, end-all! If that poster is my Holy Grail, then playing the contents of that disc is the ring from Lord of the Rings. Haha, I'm hoping you'll come across it, being the proto master you are, and I can just mooch a copy. :P

Never heard of a copy of that being out in the wild. The only SH build I've gotten the last two years is a Homecoming preview, first build sent to press. Fuck that shit. Oh, and a boring SH3 E3 disc.

But you never know, weirder things have turned up, completely out of nowhere.

Do you have any indication that the build was sent to press? If it was ONLY shown at TGS, there is little chance to find one (the disc would have to come from one of the developers).

Sadly, no. The link below is the only piece of evidence I have to go from. This is the one and only article I've seen where it actually confirms Pyramid Head roaming the apartment hallways:
GameSpot wrote: The demo itself wasn't very long and took place in the cramped hallways of an abandoned building. The hallways were virtually pitch black and illuminated only by a flashlight attached to the lead characters jacket, much like in the original Silent Hill.

[...]

In one area of the demo we had to hide from a creature dragging what looked like a large sword on the concrete floors.

For those who aren't familiar:

I'd like to think I'm pretty good at scouring search engines for additional sites covering a topic but found virtually nothing else about this trial. The Japanese results keep referring to the Xbox-release of SH2 under the "Spring TGS 2001" handle so it's proved difficult, to say the least.

After finding that poster I'm fully inclined to agree! What about the SH2 E3 Trial? Was that giving out to press or an E3-exclusive ordeal? I ask because that version turned up later on so there's always that chance.

From the Gamespot link it seems they only played it at TGS.

The SH2 E3 demo was sent to press. All official discs I've seen were labeled "E3 demo", but that's just because the discs contain the same demo shown on E3, not because that particular disc was used at E3. If a dev brings a disc to an event like that, they're just stored/destroyed after, so there is VERY little chance to get a disc/build which was ONLY used at an event.

Gotcha. Makes perfect sense then. I didn't know about the E3 trial details like that. Well, I guess I have something new to randomly keep an eye out now for fun after all!

A 3D mockup of a base design for HELLPAINTER's Lying Figure statue. Creature ripped from the game. All other assets (quickly) created by me. This was created as a proof-of-concept to see whether or not it would look good as a base. I kinda like it myself.

Aethryix, be prepared to spend a lot of time on ebay and other auction sites. It takes time to get a collection built up. A lot of this stuff is extremely hard to find, Ive got a few items in my collection that Ive never even seen for sale again after I was lucky enough to win it. Just look at others collections and get a good idea of what it is that your looking for.

I just saw this, Ratiocinator, about the poster. Just so happened it was on Halloween, my birthday, too. Congrats.
