Australian Release Date for Silent Hill: Revelation
I was wondering if anyone knows the Australian release date for Revelation (assuming it's been announced or even coming here). I haven't been able to find anything online, and none of the cinemas in my area even have it listed as Coming Soon. Hell, one cinema's coming soon list went all the way through to June/July next year, and still no mention of it. Anyway, if anyone knows, that would be great.

The Events Cinema Facebook Page says into reply to a question on October 23rd: "This film doesn't have an Australian release date at this stage."
All signs point to Silent Hill Revelation being a straight to dvd affair in Australia. Or alternatively straight to download.

^thanks for that. Typical that Australia is being forgotten, again. -_-
Re: Australian Release Date for Silent Hill: Revelation
Australia not getting Revelation is an act of mercy.

I can see it with eyes closed
Shadows that look like blood
Dead as far as the mind goes
Fear that comes from my head
Lives in the mirror"

But I still feel left out. Why can't we suffer like you guys have? Shouldn't we suffer together?Droo wrote:Australia not getting Revelation is an act of mercy.

No. Take this opportunity to escape the abomination that is Revelation. Run away and don't look back. It's too late for the rest of us, but you get to go on without having been subjected to it!

Re: Australian Release Date for Silent Hill: Revelation
I love the whole snarky "lol it's objectively bad you are lucky you don't have it" thing going on around here, despite the perfectly level 'did you enjoy it' poll on here and the 6.5 average IMDb rating. What is this, ThatGuyWithTheGlasses?

Yeah, it's been irking me too--although frankly it's mostly Droo
I think there's something in it worth watching, and considering everywhere I go I see people who hate it... but also people who love it.

All the best horror movies get that reaction. Rob Zombie's films are the same, you either love or hate them, but those who hate them are determined to make sure we all know, heheh...

I'll give Zombie this much: Devil's Rejects was awesome. Just sayin'.

And 1000 Corpses. And Halloween. And Halloween 2. And Hellbilly Deluxe, while we're on that topic...

Droo is right though.
If Australia has the Seal of Metatron, please give it to me so I can escape the trainwreck that Revelation was!

Re: Australian Release Date for Silent Hill: Revelation
Just curious, did those of you who hate revelations also hate the first silent hill film?
Re: Australian Release Date for Silent Hill: Revelation
I don't hate Revelations...I just wish it never existed. I actually adore the first film with its depth in plot and substance, and what disappointed me the most about Revelations was how fanservicy it seemed with almost no attempt to establish some deeper themes in the same way the first movie was in creativity.
Re: Australian Release Date for Silent Hill: Revelation
Ok now I am scared, I LOVED the first film as well. A work of art in its own right.
Re: Australian Release Date for Silent Hill: Revelation
I think the first movie was much better, but although Revelations made me cringe here and there it also had its good moments. Overall it' s still much better than the latest RE movie (but then which movie isn' t ? ^^).
Keep in mind that all of this is highly subjective though, just because we both enjoyed the first movie doesn' t mean we enjoyed it for the same reasons. Even if we did, it wouldn' t imply our opinions on Revelations would necessarily match.
