Thanks mate! I dunno if it's THAT good, but I'll take it all the same!

Looks like another hold up... I've got a vague feeling it might have something to do with the legalese involved in things like this.

Out of curiosity, what are folks hoping/expecting from this book? Where did you all stand on Past Life and/or the connection to Downpour itself?

Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to purchase or read Past Life yet, though I'm planning on it.

First, the obvious. I'm expecting that we will see the game's story from Anne's perspective,
PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER_SHOW PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER:
and get more of a look into her personal demons, specifically relating to what happened with her father and her personal journey in Silent Hill, as well as her feelings of revenge-fueled anger towards Murphy. But also, weird stuff like what happens to her when she falls into the chasm, or when she tries to shoot Murphy in the head on the boat? She sees Murphy as the boogeyman, but what else does she see differently from what Murphy sees?
I hope that isn't too obvious of an answer.

I should note I haven't seen all the endings of the game yet, only
PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER_SHOW PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER:
"Truth and Justice".

PAST LIFE gave more historical background on the series than it did pertaining to SILENT HILL: DOWNPOUR, specifically the origins of the ritual of the resurrection (the immolation ceremony Alessa underwent). That's what I liked about it. The story was fine. The background drew me in. I'd like to have more of that. While I like DOWNPOUR, I like the town's history and the Order's background even more.

Ha, that's okay. That is the ending that I consider to be canon, anyway.

So um, is this comic even going to be happening? Why the halibut was it taking so long?

Sorry for the much belated reply mates.

Unfortunately, I think this project is pretty much lost in the fog. I heard from Tom back in May, roughly, I think and there hadn't been any movement and it's been a year on since I got the greenlight as the artist, and I think the further we get from Downpour's release the less likely a story of this nature is to see the light of day.

I know Tom is super busy on TMNT and fter I'm done with Hoax Hunters I'll be going back to writing for a while, so even if Tom comes back, the likelihood of me returning is low, unfortunately.

That's understandable. It's regrettable, but it's not your or Tom's fault. Thank you for the effort you did put in to make this a reality, even if nothing came of it.

Same. This is such a huge disappointment. :(

Maybe an artist will come around someday and do a fan comic. I know a friend of mine who loves Anne has been considering it. And my girlfriend has been talking about doing a novelization from Anne's POV... Sure it wouldn't be official canon, but unless one does come out you won't see me complaining about it.

Gotta admit, I'm not into spin off comics based on games that much, but I am a sucker for stuff that's actually canon, and provides a different perspective on the main game.

Color me intrigued.

And hold it together as we fall apart
Maybe together we can make a mark in the stars we embark
And keep us together as the lights go dark
