One of the biggest mysteries that I've come across in the demo is the enigmatic meaning behind the series of numbers that are mentioned by the radio host during the early moments of the game. Maybe I missed something, but I've been unable to figure out an explanation to what these numbers mean. Could they have something to do with the final version of the game?

I've gathered this much:

-It's not a phone number

-It's not computer code

-Nothing in the demo seems to require the numbers

Any ideas?

At first glance a license plate came to mind. Though that's probably incredibly unlikely the case.

^Since 1 isn't mentioned in the code, I don't think that would be the case.

You are right. 20+4 (24th) eight month (august) 1963. Nice catch!

So a birth date.

Mating Cockroaches.

Woman sick in bathroom.

Pre-born baby bird/human thing in the sink.

Pills.

Murderous husband/father.

Ghost woman.

An evil is born inside the man.

A narrative definitely forms here... with definite shades of Alessa, the demon and SH1's history.

Anything more we can gather from this dialogue?
http://i.imgur.com/VYGfb1i.jpg

Again, sounds like something that can fit Alessa's story.

Also this bit is intriguing...
Dad was such a drag.

Everyday he'd eat the same kind of food, dress the same, sit in front of the same kind of games...

Yeah, he was just that kind of guy.

But then one day, he goes and kills us all!

He couldn't even be original about the way he did it.

I'm not complaining... I was dying of boredom anyway.

But guess what? I will be coming back, and I'm bringing my new toys with me.
I can't help reading into it the idea that it's poking fun at the stagnation of the game series (Silent Hill) being stuck in the same state to the point of death as a franchise...

But now it's coming back in an all new way! :D

And it will kill us all!

Unless someone discovers otherwise, I'm going to assume nothing in this actually has much meaning. The whole thing was a ruse to hide an announcement so I can easily see Kojima just coming up with random things to put in it. This number being his birthday supports that, I think.

I reckon the character/story in this demo will be referenced in the main game, probably in a similar way to Walter Sullivan.

I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be a clue to Kojima that maybe people would work out before somebody found the trailer at the end.

I've seen this interpretation, as well.

I agree that there's a bit of making fun of the series going stale, as well as perhaps making fun of the "fans" that categorically hate any new Silent Hill game because it's not Team Silent.

I noticed that the voice pauses before 6-3. Could this imply a release date on August 24?

Populus trichocarpa (black cottonwood; also known as western balsam poplar or California poplar), is a deciduous broadleaf tree species native to western North America.
-Wikipedia
In relation, this is an interesting read: Tree's leaves genetically different from its roots
Almost sounds like, "Are you sure the only you is you?"

Any significance to 7780s Studio? In ASCII 77-80 translates to MP.
