Gillespie?

Have you seen Harry's daughter anywhere? Short, dark hair?

Gillespie?

Post by Abdiel »

Any etymologists here know where the name "Gillespie" comes from?

It always struck me as an Eastern European name - possibly Romanian or Hungarian.

I'm just curious to know which particular bunch of immigrants the Gillespie family are descendents of.

Sorry if this question has been nuked already.

Seems to be Gaelic for the name Archibold--interesting, because the leader of the Sect of the Holy Mother, after George Rosten was killed, was Toby Archibold...

A coincidence you think? Or fodder for the theorists?

So, basically, no one has a clue where the Gillespie family originates from. Damn!

It would've been so much easier if it was Dahlia O'Reilly, or Dahlia Monteneux. But it's more fun this way, I guess...

The story was about her being reunited with her daughter after being stolen! Creepy...
Also, do you think Dahlia gave Cheryl a name before she was taken? Meaning:

Dahlia never knew Cheryl: she was created on the side of the road.

You haven't been hanging round here enough then. It's impossible for Cheryl to've been born any other way than preternaturally.

'Gillespie' sounds French to me, but it would make more sense if it's from Eastern Europe.

I'll elaborate on this, to clear up why.

Alessa was only 7 years old when Cheryl appeared. 7 year olds cannot get pregnant.

Again, never heard Alessa was suppose to be Cheryl's mother, I always thought they were two halfs of one person and both Dahlia's children

Technically, Cheryl is no one's "child". The closest thing she has to an actual mother would be Alessa.

I thought that Alessa somehow supernaturally created Cheryl as a way for Alessa to escape the pain of being conscious in her burned body.

It's kinda like... Alessa having suffered so much trauma up to that point, she abandons consciousness to "find a happy place" and thus creates Cheryl.

I thought, according to the game they were 2 halves of the same soul, Alessa split in 2 to stall the birth of God
