I came across something interesting today.. There's a track in the 1998 film Who Am I with something that sounds pretty much identical to a sample used in SH1's UFO tracks.

Who Am I soundtrack: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41RSwikpU7w&t=2m43s (2:43)
UFO sample: https://clyp.it/4jqok1xs

What do you think guys?

I can't remember if we really did find the Prisonic Fairytale pad..

The second one has been found more recently though. http://www.silenthillforum.com/viewtopi ... 74#p687274

Wasn't the Prisonic Fairytale pad "Vaporchime" from Distorted Reality 2?

Nisto
thanks for that underfire sample!

as for prisonic fairytale, don't you think that VAPORCHIME sounds a little different?
in the original, you can clearly hear some lowpassed rhytmic bleeping, and its definitely part of the sample, cause when he pitches it down for the 2nd chord, you can hear those bleeps slowed down.
But it feels that its from distorted reality, it could be some other sample though, I think

VAPORCHIME is definitely the sample he used. First you need to downmix it to mono (or maybe it's just the left or right channel, I'm not really sure), then trim it down a bit (I haven't quite figured out where he cut it).

Here is the sample converted from the game data:
https://www.sendspace.com/file/9knuep

He seems to have sampled VAPORCHIME at one octave below middle C, so you need to go up one octave to get the same sample rate as on the library.

I think I got it now.
its a relatively slow xfade sustain loop, it causes the rhythmic thing I was referring to

I've been eyeing this old sample library for a while, thought I'd mention it here: SampleLab - Luscious Grooves: The Dark Side

We know that Yamaoka used a lot of SampleLab stuff (particularly from "Broken Beats" and "Spatial Awareness"), so there's a chance that he used this one, too. There only real information that I can find about that library is from an old Sound on Sound review (scroll down).

I have the original Luscious Grooves library, but he didn't use anything from there that I recognize. May have used The Dark Side, though. It sounds like something that he would have picked up, at least.

I might be crazy, but I think I found the second sample of the main industrial loop in Flower Crown of Poppy (it plays in the middle of each loop).

Silent Hill 3
Track: Flower Crown of Poppy
Library: Big Fish Audio: Things That Go Bump in the Night
Sample: 140-6
Time of Sample: 0:01

I made a quick demo:

What do you think?

Yeah that sample is also used in the hilltop numb bodies track. Nice find in the second sample.

Is it just me or does Ladyhulk from AMG's Vinyl Frontier 2 sound an awful lot like the loop that plays in Letter - From the Lost Days at around 2:18? They sound similar to me, but I'm not sure.

It totally does. It's just a small modification to the pitch and tempo I think. Nice find!

This one was discovered by a user of the past. Not sure whether he wanted credit or to "stay anonymous", but on the former, you know where to reach me..

Silent Hill 3

Sorry for offtop, but I don't know any other place where I can ask this. Does anybody knows what sample pack has the samples that are used in this track, especially at 0:00, 0:16 and 0:56? I also heard them in some Junkie XL's tracks.

P.S. Sorry for bad english.

I may have missed some things, so you should probably all check out this library. Also, CD1 track 15 reminds me of something, but I can't place it. Could be something unrelated to SH though.

Thanks to TechnoMysterio @ VGMdb for bringing the library to my attention. I personally never expected to find SH samples in the Sound Series libraries.
