Pyramid Head Death scene

Post by Scabbed Angel »

Not a spoiler... I was just thinking of PH's death in SH2. As he was a creature created by Silent Hill to punish James, an illusion, he could not be killed by conventional means. In fact:
PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER_SHOW PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER:
He [they] only died through suicide on their own spears once (arguably) their purpose was completed
Considering the main enemy monster in a horror film is usually vanquished, how would you feel if they killed PH by conventional means, with weapons or otherwise? I could not see it done in any tasteful sort of way, as I felt there was almost a dark romance and awe to his end in SH2... Having him killed by bullets would somewhat dimish his character, and to some degree, his awful mistique. How would you prefer he, if he must be, killed in the film? Can you see a way that he could be killed by "normal" ways without ruining the thought behind what he is...

No, because his demise needs to symbolize a characters coming to terms with personnel adversity, and personnel problems.

Personnel problems? I don't mean to be a grammar snob, but PH symbolizes the problems James is having with that slacker in accounting being late to work every day?

Sorry, I just thought it was a really funny typo!

Hey, if that accountant hadn't been messing up so much, James' company would've been saved thousands of dollars, that could have gone straight towards getting Mary to a better, more reputable hospital where she could have been diagnosed properly, and treated. As far as James is concerned, that accountant was responsible for Mary's death, so it only makes sense that PH would be symbolic of that.

Now that I think of it, maybe the scene where he sees PH with the mannequin is symbolic of a really embarassing situation he stumbled into in the copy room at the last office Christmas party. Yow!

Hopefully it will have bullet time action with zombies that have nuke launchers and laser scopes with nightvision and funny looking moving designs on the side that look like japanese numbers.

I sure as hell hope this never becomes a movie. The game was bad enough...a movie would would have the same effect as the later Halloween movies had on the series. No good can come of it.

aren't they combining the monsters from all the games into one? So how would they be able to create a second one? And I'm curious to see how they give each important part of the games their due justice. Can they cram it in?

From what I've seen, they appear to be combining monsters from all 3, but I could be wrong. Hopefully not many from the second game are int he movie, though. I think they could give all the important parts characters in the game there due justice without going overboard on time. I'm interested to see how they do it as well, but I believe it can be done.

PH in the movie is different than PH in the game though. And in the movie,

Also, in the movie:
PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER_SHOW PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER:
PH doesn't play that big a role. Was good seeing him though, along with the other SH2 enemies.

PH reacts to getting shot in the game too...it makes sense that he can feel pain because james can feel pain, (remember that silly face he makes when a patient demon vomits in his eyes). and they are both somewhat physically weak, they both carry the great knife in the same gimpish way. i mean ya know, they are like donny AND marie, all rolled into one and split into two again :)

and venerrah....NO, that scene was uber hot and it didn't last long enough, the only thing that would have been hotter is if maybe mary and maria were dressed up in nurse uniforms and cheering him on from beside the fridge.

oh gosh--well I let it fall into the hands of that kind of a response. I didn't think he'd play as big of a role in the movie, but glad he's there---I think he's one of the fav. theme in the games for people. Personally, I think he looks like a hobo with a huge potatoe/gunny sack for clothes and a randome trash can on his head----but who doesn't love the homeless?? He just needs some lovin!

actually, depending on how you take PH, either A) as a manifestation of James's sexual urges for his murdered wife, or B) an entity inspired by the town's executioner...i'd say the more grotesque the monster banging the better. if in fact james's whole experience in silent hill revolves around himself and his wife, and it is NOT that he has just been sucked into a long running nightmare and simply sees things through his own "filter" if you will, then it would make muchO senseO that PH taunts him with really bad porn. i mean, if i were james and i was mourning my dead gal, i know that nothing would give me a really frustrating case of blue balls faster than seeing some horrifying monster guy gettin some while i was stuck in a closet. now i know that sounded very sarcastic, and some of it was, but just for humor's sake, i think some of it actually made sense too....

It appears from an executor like the Red Devil, Xuchilbara. Not only Mary's death, James' imaginations.

i thought the film was good but i would rather they had made it exactly like the game and started with silent hill! with 2 3 and The Room to follow istead of jumbling it all up!! Pyramid head was cool and the nurses looked awsome too!!Will be buying the dvd when it is released though so i can watch it again and again in the dark with a nice chilled bottle of Chardonnay!!! :D

Love everthing Silent Hill

Res Evil too
