Shades of Gray

Post by StinkBomber »

I remember you folks were worried they'd downplay the morality of Silent Hill in simple terms of good and evil...

But I've got to say, the ending did exemplify what Gucci said about the justice of man, god, or a devil.

There clearly was something horrific going on beneath all of this, and I've got to ask was her decision worth the outcome? Alessa's revenge, no matter how just it may have been, has sparked something infinitley sinister, hasn't it?

Burning Alessa alive sparked something infinitely sinister.

If they carry on with the same characters for the sequal we may just find out. Otherwise it is just a basic question of ethics. Parent figures and such have always said "no"

What bothers me is how this "Reaper" used justice to it's advantage, it never would have aided Alessa unless it had something to gain, and that's the sequel material I'm glad for.

Rose however, what did she gain from helping with that revenge? When I first saw the end of the film, I noticed how Rose sat in her home, yet her daughter would not sit by her side and simply continued walking away, as if to leave her behind.

Then we have good ol' Mr. DaSilva in his grief, realizing that something's been lost as well.

Nothing good came of these events, that much I know.
