Is Alessa Dead? [UNMARKED SPOILERS]

Post by Icarus »

Is Alessa dead?...Sorry if this is a stupid to ask but I haven't played Silent Hill 1 since it came out and I don't remember
PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER_SHOW PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER:
If the boss at the end is Alessa or the Demon
So if you guys could help me out and save me a lot of time of not playing the game through again (even though I should) that would be great.

The final boss is God regardless of which ending you receive. Alessa is physically gone, but her spirit will always remain.

Her spirit will and does remain.
Her memory even tries to stop Heather from birthing God in Silent Hill 3, so while her phsycial body is gone...her mental spirit will always be there.

See, it's complicated. Technically Heather is Alessa, but her Memory still remains in the town. One could say pretty confidently that it's been there since the end of SH1. So, over the course of the series, Alessa has been:

1) Herself (burned figure in Alchemilla's basement for seven years)
2) Cheryl (half her soul split into another being)
3) The Holy Mother (however briefly)
4) Heather
5) Memory Of Alessa
"Oh yeah, I've been here before
I can see it with eyes closed
Shadows that look like blood
Dead as far as the mind goes
Fear that comes from my head
Lives in the mirror"

I'm curious, you defeat her in the merry go round...does she still remain or does she leave or what actually happens to her?

If thats correct then how did Alessa know that 17 years after her dying that she would have to leave her memory to stop Heather?

Alessa's pretty much dead.

sh3 and a bit of 1 spolier
PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER_SHOW PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER:
in Good and good+ after you defeat Incubus Alessa in her more Holy mOther style form she hands you a baby that baby is just like Cheryl a part of her soul. I think Although Alessa kinda wanted God dead she more so wanted herself dead. Mayeb it's because she knew how much Cheryl meant to Harry and it was a thank you gift. Maybe she had a change of though. you never know but that child Becomes Heather in SH3.

There's one glaring problem with your post: Why would Alessa give Harry a baby with the foetus of God inside it? Alessa wanted the God to die. She wouldn't give Harry a baby with the foetus inside of it in this case. Therefore, the only person capable of creating life who wanted God to survive is God Herself.
I'm not dead yet, dammit.

It's true that Alessa was suicidal, but more importantly, she was deicidal. The Holy Woman in White, then, is not Alessa, but rather God.

Yes, that child becomes Heather.
And then Alessa tries to kill that child.

Alessa's sole purpose, basically, is to stop God from existing in a physical sense.

So if another were to try to give birth to God would she come after them too?

I would assume so.
PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER_SHOW PRIME_BBCODE_SPOILER:
It's possible that Alessa gave the baby to Harry not knowing that it would eventually have the ability to give birth to god. There might be something inside Alessa that manifest god in a pre-natal state. *shrugs*
