Filters? You mean the Noise Effect? All it does is add a grain to the graphics. If you turn it off then everything will look very clean and very clear. You should notice the difference almost immediatly.

It's a better experience to play with the effect turned on (it's turned on by default anyway, you only get the option to turn it off once you've completed the game), the only reason to turn it off is to pick out some of the finer details. Posters, monsters, surroundings all look alot sharper.

Why didn't you just turn it off and see what would happen?

Nose? It should be Noise.
The option to turn this filter on and off is readily available on your first run through.

New Options

Once you beat the game you will find new options in the Options menu including Bullet Adjust (gives you x2 or x3 bullets when finding ammo- say for example you get 12 bullets, if you set it to x2 you would get 24) and an option the lets you turn off the noise filters.

You sure Amp?

The original PS2 version has the Noise Filter option as an unlockable, but in other versions, such as the Xbox and PC, it's a default option.

Because maybe he didn't know what filters meant, and wanted to find out.

You'll get a better picture by turning it off. I typically turn this off because I can see items and others better.

Well, heck, now I'm going to have to go back, beat it on PS2, and then play it again to see what it looks like. I've never played without filters! Any other PS2 SH2 vets who didn't know about this, or am I the last on the bandwagon?
