I only have earbuds and they get uncomfortable pretty quickly. I was looking into Skull Candy brand headphones, so I was wondering what other people were using for headphones to get the best audio out of SHO?

i have a pair of regular sony headphones. they work well and don't cost much. i'd definately get a pair of skullcandy's, though, if i had the money to spare.

Big headphones. Really big.
Sony. Another Panasonic in case of "brake down" as a backup.

I thought earbuds worked pretty well for a 'creepy' factor; you could still hear what's going on around you, and if your earbuds work well, those sounds would mix in with the game, and make it seem your world and the game's were blending.
At least, it did for me, because my house settles a lot at night...

Well, the ear buds start to hurt my ears after awhile and I figure with bigger headphones that basically swallow your ear holes it'll put all the SH sounds in my head

Ah, I see.
My ears are kind of big, so earbuds aren't a problem for me...
I guess Headphones would be kind of a good idea, especially Skull Crushers, so you can almost feel Travis breaking a TV over a Straightjacket's head.
Hehehe...I should try that...

On another note, I REALLY love this games audio. Like when you're near the crumbling cliffs you can hear rocks falling off, or when you're outside you can hear sticks breaking, wind blowing and a bunch of other stuff, I love it. This game would be so fcking awesome in some kind of surround sound.

Yeah, that's kind of what the earphones do...You can sorta hear that way.
Sorta.
So, hopefully it'll get ported to the PS2...

I went to BestBuy the other day and figured I'd give the headphones a look and my god...Bose EARBUDS were over $100...that's just insanely ridiculous.

Skullcandy are fantastic. I cannot stress that enough. Especially the ones with the external bass adjuster. Great for gaming. The only possible problem with them is that they probably should have called them "Skullcrusher"- they sorta seal around the ears and keep out outside noise, but in the process, they kinda... y'know... crush your skull. On the other hand, that kinda forces you to take a break from gaming, so...

I have a pair of Sony MDR-V500's (technically djing/studio earphones), which I like quite a bit. But they're a little hard on the ears, especially if you have piercings. I have to take my industrial out when wearing them for an extended period, otherwise it gets really painful and the area around the piercing ends up swollen. Ugh.

Yeah, I would like to get a pair that surrounds the ears not just lays on top of the ears. Ones that cancel outside noise, I checked bestbuy and they prettymuch just had Bose and Sony ones that were too expensive, so I'll probly go to Circuit City one day and pick up a pair of Skullcandy ones.

This is the first SH I've played with surround sound. It's the only way to go.
