According to this...

James was a clerk of some sort before going to Silent Hill.
Maria was a dancer as we all know.
Eddie worked at a gas station.
Angela didn't work as far as we know.
Mary was a "stay-at-home" housewife.

I never knew any of this! Feel free to discuss. :D

I found that a little while ago. I assumed it had already been discussed, so I didn't post it.
I think Angela was either unemployed or a student

Well, I couldn't find anything in the quicklinks section so I just took a stab at it. I find it really interesting though.

Also, am I the only one who cannot see James as a clerk?

I thought this information had been well-known for a few years.

I definitely see James as a clerk. He just has that "good afternoon, sir, is there something I can help you with today" aura about him.

And Angela's sicko dad probably didn't let her work... afraid that she might spill the beans about him to her coworkers, maybe.

Or maybe Home Depot, that's why he was so handy with planks and pipes.

I think that the point is that the characters (in SH2, anyway) are supposed to be from everyday occupations, which is why they're not particularly proficient in combat.

Clerk doesn't mean James necessarily worked in retail. A certain Kevin Smith movie has led many to associate the term with Wal-Mart employee, etc., but the term clerk is more properly applied to a white collar office worker. James could be a city clerk, a court clerk, a data entry clerk, a patent clerk, and so on and so forth.

I can see James working in an office setting, shuffling papers around while his wife slowly dies on him. It helps lend to his borderline alcoholic, sexually repressed, frustrated on-the-brink personality.

Very good point Drewfus! I could actually see James in an office as you described, however the idea of him selling pillows as some insist doesn't really suit him if you ask me.

I never really thought about James in the work force... Yeah, I guess I could see him in an office type enviroment. But a higher up, a corner office and company car type.

I always thought Eddie was a Pokemon Trainer... That counts as a profession isn't?

Well everyone knows that Kage. I mean seriously, why point out the obvious? It's weird though, he used to have a Pochiena.

I wonder what happened to it...

Please don't spam, guys. Clearly making gags about James being a Pokemon trainer does not constructively contribute to any serious discussion of the topic at hand.
